Pottstown doesn’t spray for mosquitoes, Montgomery County Health Department does, only because mosquitoes can spread disease to humans. The lantern flies may destroy trees but they are harmless to human health thus why no spraying is done. There are sprays out there that you can use to kill them or make your own.

I live in the East End of Pottstown and on these nice days I can’t open my windows because of the stench coming from the sewage plant. I see trucks going in and out there everyday. I don’t know if they’re bringing in sewage from other municipalities or not but it smells like crap.

Many years ago there was a song titled “People Make The World Go Round.” Now I think it needs to be called “Evil Makes The World Go Round.”

One of the most disgusting things that President Trump has done is not be able to give one speck of praise to Sen. John McCain who served the country, who was in prison in North Vietnam for over five years, who was beaten, but Donald Trump who was home nursing his bone spur in his foot will not give him one by iota of praise. Yeah, you’re a real Christian aren’t you Mr. Trump?

The president hosted a leader of QAnon at the White House for a tour and photo op. QAnon believes the president is saving the world from a great pedophile ring in Washington and Hollywood. A man who once talked about his baby daughter’s body parts and called his older daughter a great piece of you-know-what and that he would date her if she wasn’t his daughter. How stupid and gullible are these people?

Why is it when you go to the deli and ask the person “Please not thin” when they’re cutting your meat or cheese, they totally disregard it and do what they want to? Then you go to make a sandwich and it’s so thin you can barely get it apart. You need a butter knife, you can almost see through it. I don’t understand why people want stuff so thin. Do you think you’re getting more when you make a sandwich with a piece of air?

Mark Furlong, maybe you should also read the paper. Featured on Sunday in The Mercury was a quote “Pennsylvania public school teachers are under compensated relative to other full time workers with similar education and skills. Their weekly wages are 12 percent lower than the wages of comparable full time employees in Pennsylvania.” Stop whining. You can think of your opinionated statements because of learning from a teacher.

Be careful when you follow the masses, sometimes the M is silent.

This is to Bonnie. I’ll give you one good reason we don’t want a wall, $25 billion. You want to pay for it, raise your taxes? Put some soldiers that don’t have work on the borders if you want more border security. Think about that Bonnie.

Bigger trouble for Trump with his chief money man Allen Weisselberg who Trump put in charge of the business with his sons when he took office. Weisselberg is turning on Trump. He has full immunity and knows where the bodies are buried. He prepares Trump’s tax returns, oversees the family trust and even worked for Trump’s father. He is considered a single most indispensable person in the Trump organization.

Athletes are ridiculed and called un-American by our president for not standing for our anthem yet his refusal to serve his country in Vietnam because of bone spurs is not seen by him as un-American, definitely a double standard. As a vet of the Vietnam war I am more troubled by his actions than by the actions of athletes attempting to show the inequalities in our nation.

In response to Lady Dee, I recommend only one book, it’s the Bible. It is the only truth and what gives me comfort and peace. Everyone makes their own choice on who to follow. I don’t choose any party or human. It’s sad to see the anger, hatred and intolerance. No one person controls others, we choose. I pray for peace for us all whether we agree or not.

I agree, Mollie Tibbetts was a tragedy. Her killer should never have been in this country in the first place and I hope he gets what’s coming to him but to say for that reason no one should vote Democrat in November, that’s not going to happen. As long as we have someone like Trump in the White House who after all of his shenanigans is still largely supported by the Republican Party that’s reason enough not to vote Republican in November.
