Watson’s ace aids Spring-Ford golf’s win over Phoenixvil­le

Luke Watson summed up Thursday’s strong outing by the Spring-Ford boys golf team. And he did it in one stroke. Watson scored a hole-in-one on the third hole at Turtle Creek while the Rams were handling Phoenixvil­le in their Pioneer Athletic Conference match, 178-206. Three Spring-Ford golfers shot below par on the par-36 layout, followed by Watson and Josh Brauer carding five of the day’s seven lowest scores.

Axel Kalbach led the way with his threeunder 33, followed by Nate Pierce (34) and Steven Stumpo (35). Watson came in with a 37, and Josh Brauer added a 39.

Phoenixvil­le’s low man was Mitchell Schwartz at 37. Parker Stevens tied Brauer with a 39. OWEN J. ROBERTS 188, POTTSGROVE 224 » Jack Murray took low-man honors for the Wildcats in their PAC victory over the Falcons at Kimberton.

Murray checked in one-over at 35, one of four golfers from Owen J. with sub-40 cards. Ryan Glenn and Conrad Benford had 37s and Nick Massa a 39 ahead of teammate Ben Samuelson (40) and Pottsgrove co-leaders Cameron Mowery and Steve Rinda (41s). CONRAD WEISER 311, DANIEL BOONE 320 » Colton Yenser was the bright spot for the Blazers in their Berks Conference match with the Scouts at Arrowhead.

Yenser was low man in the match with an even-par 70. He was Boone’s lone player to shoot in the 70s, Ben Sjosten next with an 82 and Chase Ring with an 83.

UNIONVILLE 170, SPRING-FORD 195 » Charlotte Scully’s sub-40 round keyed the Indians in their non-league victory over the Rams at Linfield National.

Scully shot a 39 on the par-35 Linfield layout while Unionville turned in the match’s four lowest cards. Amelia Dicicco

and Aleena Ghanta were Spring-Ford’s co-leaders at 47.

Girls tennis

The Warriors won all pairings in two sets to control their PAC match with the Wildcats.

The marquee first-singles duel between Methacton’s Dina Nouaime and OJR’s Elaina Lee saw Nouaime win 6-2, 6-4. The Warriors’ first-doubles team of Anna Ryu and Angie Kuang was most dominant, winning 6-0, 6-3. SPRING-FORD 7, UPPER

Tori Alexander, Kathryn Alvarez and Isabel Mejia won their matches (first through third singles) by identical 6-0, 6-0 sets. SF got similar showings at second doubles (Lucy Olsen/Emma Griffin) and fourth doubles (Hannah Sharkey/Breanna Weigelt) while dropping just four games on the day. Nadja Townsend and Kay Mahon won their respective first- and secondsing­les contests by identical 6-0, 6-0 scores, as did the first-doubles team of Meghana Sahasrabud­dhe and Kayla Nassoiy.
