Area congregations schedule special services
Christ Lutheran
Barto — Bridge Pastor David Penman will be leading the congregation in the 9 a.m. worship service on Sunday at Christ Lutheran Church, 222 Niantic Road.
The Bell Choir will resume rehearsals on Wednesday beginning at 6:45 p.m. followed by the Senior Choir rehearsing at 7:45 p.m.
St. Luke Lutheran
Gilbertsville — Linc Noecker is welcomed as guest musician at the 9:30 a.m. worship service on Sunday at St. Luke Lutheran Church, 35 Wilson Ave.
The Community Clothing Rack will be open from 9 a.m. until noon on Wednesday for clothing drop off.
St. John’s UCC
Pottstown — St. John’s United Church of Christ, 11 South Price St., will join several other area congregations for a Community Worship Service on Sunday. It will be held in the grove at Shenkel UCC beginning at 10 a.m. A time of fellowship will follow the service in the grove pavilion. All are welcome.
Shepherd of the Hills
Bechtelsville — The Montco-Berks Golden Age Club will meet at 2 p.m. on Thursday at Shepherd of the Hills Church, 527 Hoffmansville Road. The program will be “Music by Michael Kropp.”
Bethel Community
Pottstown — The life of Jean Price will be celebrated at 11 a.m. today at Bethel Community Church of Pottstown, 575 N. Keim St. The family and friends will gather immediately following the celebration in the Community Room for a “Repast.”
The Praise Power Choir will be singing during the 10:30 a.m. service on Sunday.
Shenkel UCC
North Coventry — A joint Community Service with several other local churches will be hosted at 10 a.m. on Sunday in the grove at Shenkel United Church of Christ, 1580 Shenkel Road. A corn and doggie roast will also be held at 5 p.m. on Sunday.
Zion’s UCC
Pottstown — The September guest organist is Keith Clattenberg at Zion’s United Church of Christ, Hanover and Chestnut streets. After many years of piano Keith was introduced to the organ by Wanamaker organist Keith Chapman. He was chaplain’s assistant in the Marine Corps. He currently enjoys substituting in a variety of churches and is involved in community theater in the Greater Philadelphia Area.
John Nimmerichter will speak on “Bringing Water to Haiti” at 1:30 p.m. on Tuesday at Women’s Fellowship. Bring a friend and learn about John’s experience in Haiti in 2017 and 2018.
Pizza and Ping Pong will be held at 6 p.m. on Wednesday.
Brownback’s UCC
Spring City — Corinne Griffiths will be the guest organist at the 10 a.m. service on Sunday at Brownback’s United Church of Christ, 640 Ridge Road. All are invited to remain after the service for Social Hour in Fellowship Hall.
Second Baptist
Pottstown — A Revival will take place from 7 to 8 p.m. on Wednesday, Thursday and Friday at Second Baptist Church, 507 N. Adams St. Food will be served Friday night.
Trinity UCC
Pottstown — The members of Trinity United Church of Christ, 60 N. Hanover St., invite the public to share their prayers on the outdoor “prayer wall.” It is located on the lawn on Hanover Street. All the supplies that you need are attached to the wall. Write your prayer and attach it to the “wall.” We will take your prayers and offer them during our morning prayer time. Visitors expected.
