To the person living near the old hospital on High Street who complained about people spraying dangerous weed killer, how do you know it wasn’t a mixture of vinegar, Dawn and Epson salt? They don’t just spray anything they want in Pottstown, it happens all over. If you were so concerned why didn’t you go check it out further? —Just Saying

As I watched the beautiful memorial services and listened to the many deserving tributes paid to Sen. McCain for his years of dedicated service to our country, I was happy that President Trump was not invited because surely he would have used the occasion as another photo up and somehow managed to focus the attention on himself instead of the true American patriot. —Helen N.

So sad that Megan McCain is so full of anger and hate. Where is her sympathy and sadness for her father that she loved? God took her father, God rest his soul.

Once again the Owen J. Roberts administration is showing what is truly important in the district. All high school students must pay $25 for the opportunity to use a Chromebook which teachers are requiring in the classroom. There is no charge to participate in athletics. Where is that $25 per student going? That’s an additional $30,000 and yet they continually raise taxes. Anyone else wonder where our money is going?

Trump rolls back pollution rules. What’s that tell you? More pollution, more deaths. What did Trump say? Clean air, clean water. Another lie. —Jay Miller

I take exception to the statements made by the caller in Sound Off on Aug. 31. First of all these priests know what they’re getting into when they become priests. Second, I agree with letting them get married but most priests abuse boys. Lastly, their desires have to be satisfied? No they don’t. Although they act like animals they’re not. It’s called self control. It must have been a man calling in.

Last week in Royersford, an honest man went to great lengths to return to me my purse, which I had dropped while shopping on Main Street. Not only did he return my grocery money for the week, he also returned to me a stronger belief in the goodness of our neighbors. These neighbors who don’t make front page news.

Jeff Sessions, how dare you indict Republicans for doing something illegal. That is not the Trump way.

On Aug. 31 in Chris Freind’s editorial he wrote, “Had the president and the GOP replaced Obamacare with health care reform that drastically lowered premiums, granted more personal choice and offered better access to doctors, the Republicans chances at retaining the House would have skyrocketed.” But due to McCain’s dislike for President Trump he gave his memorable thumbs down to the vote at the expense of the country’s welfare. Is that integrity or spite? —BRRN

The Democrat socialists are pouring millions of dollars as they are doing all they can to indoctrinate college students into socialism. Is this the path we want to take to Venezuela, Nicaragua and Cuba?

To A Concerned Senior Citizen, while free health care could be considered socialism, I dispute your contention that aid to farmers is also considered socialism. Not so. Due to new trade policies, farmers could not bring their product economically to market. —Martha

There was something great to celebrate this Labor Day with more people employed than ever in U.S. history and with a 3.9 percent unemployment rate to boot. Why on earth would anyone want to go to the polls to alter such numbers just because they don’t like the president’s flaws? Personally I don’t like him either but economy-wise he gets an A-plus so use your head. —Truth Be Told

By all means vote for a Democrat if you want: number one, open borders; two, higher taxes; three, more government regulations; four, socialism; five, corrupt officials at the DOJ and FBI; six, sanctuary cities; seven, politically corrupt insanity on college campuses. America first. Continue the fight President Trump. —JC

Of course Demi Lovato’s drug dealer won’t be investigated. Why doesn’t law enforcement go on TV and say exactly how much they get paid to overlook things? A regular person’s drug dealer would be automatically arrested and go to jail for 25 years but because he sold drugs to a rich person that’s OK by law. We can see where the favoritism is. That’s called discrimination and the court system shouldn’t allow that to be done.

Deedee, I just wanted to let you know that seniors are not paying for my child to get breakfast and lunch at school, I am. And if you want proof I can show you my checkbook.

For the person looking for someone to take care of your bees, I have a number that I used a while back. It may help. The number is 610-7169841. It’s free bee removal.
