David Scandle
David Scandle, 61, passed away on Saturday, August 25, 2018 at the Medical Center of Aurora in Aurora, Colorado following a brief illness. Mr. Scandle is survived by his son, Robert Scandle (husband of Michelle) of Harleysville and his granddaughter, Kaelyn Scandle. He also leaves behind one niece. He is preceded in death by his parents, John Scandle and Louise (Mays) Scandle of Pottstown and his brother, Ronald Scandle of Deptford, NJ. David was born on May 16, 1957 in Pottstown, PA where he was raised and went on to graduate from St. Pius X High School and later earned an Associates Degree in Electronics from PACE Institute. He worked at the Stanley G. Flagg Company of Pottstown for several years and also worked as an electronics technician for Ikon Office Solutions before finding his way into the insurance business, most notably as a salesman and office manager for Monumental Life Insurance Company. He worked for the last year as a truck driver for Stevens Transport of Dallas, TX where he enjoyed the opportunity to travel and experience different parts of the country. David was a loving father and grandfather. He lived most of his life in Pottstown, Exeter, and Douglassville areas where he volunteered for many years as a firefighter with the Norco Fire Company and Lower Alsace Fire Company. He enjoyed playing golf and was an avid bowler in his younger years. He was elated to have seen his beloved Philadelphia Eagles win a championship in Super Bowl 52. Funeral services will be private. Family and friends are invited to attend a Celebration of David’s life at the Norco Fire Company on Saturday, September 15th from 11:00am – 3:00pm. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made in David’s honor to the American Diabetes Association.
