Sheriff’s deputies apprehend 9 fugitives
WEST CHESTER » While assisting the Philadelphia Sheriff’s Office with a warrant sweep, the Chester County Sheriff’s Office Fugitive Apprehension Unit (FAU) crossed one name off its own list that day.
That arrest represented one of the nine residents the FAU took into custody during the month of August — in an area that stretched from the City of Brotherly Love to Allentown.
On Aug. 3, 2018, sheriff’s deputies received information that Gregory Koniow, 32, of Phoenixville, was at an address in the City of Allentown. The Sheriff’s Office coordinated with the Allentown City Police Department, and Koniow was arrested and transported back to Chester County. Koniow had a bench warrant for an alleged violation of probation/ parole.
On Aug. 8, 2018, deputies arrested Robert Hardy at an address in the 100 block of North Fourth Avenue in the City of Coatesville. Hardy, a 26-year-old Coatesville resident, had a bench warrant for an alleged violation of probation/parole.
A 54-year-old West Chester resident was taken into custody on Aug. 10, 2018. Sheriff’s deputies arrested Kimberly Snell at an address in the 600 block of East Union Street in West Chester Borough. Snell had a bench warrant for an alleged violation of probation/parole.
On Aug. 15, 2018, deputies assisted the Chester County Adult Probation Office with the search of a residence in the 200 block of Pine Valley Road in Valley Township. Multiple firearms were discovered as a result of that search, and William Ankerstjerne, 45, of Valley Township, was subsequently arrested for an alleged violation of probation/parole.
Sheriff’s deputies arrested Reco Oxendine at an address in the 300 block of Walnut Street in the City of Coatesville on Aug. 18, 2018. Oxendine, 27, of Coatesville, had a bench warrant for an alleged violation of probation/parole.
On Aug. 24, 2018, Chester County deputies assisted the Philadelphia County Sheriff’s Office with “Operation Night Sweep,” a detail that resulted in 17 apprehensions. One of those subjects was Imani Gonzales, who was taken into custody at an address in the 2100 block of North Second Street in Philadelphia. Gonzales, 27, of Pottstown, had 15 warrants for her arrest. Her alleged violations included two warrants for failing to appear for trial in Chester County, one warrant for failing to appear for trial in Montgomery County, and 12 summary warrants issued out of several Chester County district courts.
On Aug. 30, 2018, deputies arrested Anthony Steely at an address in the unit block of Quarry Road in West Sadsbury Township. The 27-year-old Coatesville resident, who had a bench warrant for an alleged violation of probation/parole, attempted to evade capture by barricading himself inside a bathroom. However, he was quickly apprehended. This incident was turned over to the West Sadsbury Township Police Department for further investigation and the determination of additional criminal charges.
Also on Aug. 30, 2018, sheriff’s deputies arrested Kevin Brown at an address in the 500 block of Harmony Street in the City of Coatesville. Brown, 23, of Coatesville, had a bench warrant for an alleged violation of probation/parole.
Finally, deputies arrested Major Glassco at an address in the 500 block of East Lincoln Highway in the City of Coatesville on Aug. 30, 2018. Deputies were originally on location attempting to find another wanted person, but through the course of their investigation, they learned that Glassco, 32, of Coatesville, had a warrant for an alleged violation of his state parole.
All defendants were held for further processing.
