Duke’s hat trick leads Rams over Phantoms

Brandon Duke netted a hat trick to lift the Spring-Ford boys soccer team to a 3-0 win over Phoenixvil­le in a rematch of last season’s Pioneer Athletic Conference championsh­ip game.

Sal Ibarra and Evan Hang registered assists for Spring-Ford, which led 2-0 by the half. Ray Fortebuono finished with four saves in goal for Spring-Ford. Phoenixvil­le keeper Gavin Perillo made five saves. UPPER PERKIOMEN 3, NORRISTOWN 1» Kyle Shemeley had a part in all three of the Tribe’s goal during this PAC cross-divisional pairing.

Shameley scored twice and added an assist on Tyler Raymond’s goal. Austin Dunar and Cole Kendra registered assists in the win for Upper Perk.

Emma Elwell, Samantha Goffice, Raeanne King, Morgan Kline, Sierra Landis and Bria Smith all scored for Boyertown while Mikayla Moyer and Aimee Toscano were each credited with an assist. Mackenzie Fatzinger and Cassidy Landis combined for four saves in the shutout. UPPER PERKIOMEN 11, NORRISTOWN 1 » Avery Diehl netted a hat trick while Emily Schaut posted five assists as the Tribe routed the Eagles in a PAC crossdivis­ional matchup.

Bryanna Marinari, Kayla Rowland and Lilliana Goodrich scored two goals apiece while Hannah Keeney (assist) and Taylor Wismer added solo tallies in the win. Landis and Sierra Fretz combined for six saves in goal. Stefanello, Aubrey Newman and Mackenzie Ring each scored earlier in the game for Boone while Ashley Finkbiner made five saves. For Weiser, Brea Borrell, Elise Cole and Gwen Sears each scored a goal. OLEY VALLEY 3, METHACTON2» Despite leading 2-0 at the half, the Warriors fell to the Lynx in this non-conference matchup.

Katy Benton netted both goals for Methacton (3-1 overall), one coming off a feed from Elena Snodgrass. Molly Frey came up with 10 saves in the cage. Madison Kline, Sophia Gladieux and Kayla Maciejewsk­i each scored for Oley while Erinn Messner made six saves in the cage.

Boys golf

OWEN J. ROBERTS 195, PERKIOMEN VALLEY 205 » Jack Murray and Ryan Glenn each finished at 1-over 37 to lead the Wildcats to a PAC win over the Vikings at Raven’s Claw G.C. (Par 36).

CJ Bono paced Perk Valley with a 37, though OJR claimed four of the first five spots on the leaderboar­d. Conrad Benford shot a 38, Nick Massa posted a 39 and Christian Brofft rounded out the scorecard with a 44. Gabe Yackanicz and Andrew Burkhardt each finished at 41 for PV. UPPER PERKIOMEN 208, BOYERTOWN 211 » Zach Rozanski carded a match-low 39 to lead the Tribe to a PAC win over the Bears at Macoby Run (Par 36).

Brett Miller followed with a 40 while Macauley Swenk and Deion Doperak each finished at 42 before Zach Gehman rounded out the scorecard with a 45. Zach Little paced Boyertown with a 40 while John Engle (41) and Brad Fenstermak­er shot a 42. PHOENIXVIL­LE 208, POTTSGROVE 222 » The Phantoms’ depth proved the difference in this PAC match played against the Falcons at Gilbertsvi­lle G.C. (Par 35).

Phoenixvil­le’s Mitchell Schwartz matched Pottsgrove’s Cameron Mowery with a 39 while Kyle Resuta and PJ Sullivan finished at 41 and 42, respective­ly in the win. Parker Stevens and Bryan Maguire rounded out the winning scorecard, each finished at 43. Steven Rinda carded a 42 for Pottsgrove while Josh keppley shot a 45.

PERKIOMEN VALLEY 211, BOYERTOWN 214 » Tori Bruno’s round-best 47 was the difference in the Vikings’ PAC win over the Bears at Twin Ponds G.C. (Par 35).

Julie Neild carded a 51 while Alexa Hansen (56) and Reagan Parks (57) rounded out the scorecard for Perk Valley. Emma Hauser and Emily Burger each carded a 51 for Boyertown while Kylie Wood fired a 52. DOWNINGTOW­N EAST 174, METHACTON 228 » Liddie McCook posted a 1-over 37 as the Cougars dominated the Warriors during this PAC match at Whitford C.C.

Ava O’Sullivan shot a 39, Katelyn Samples posted a 48 and Anisha Sonti rounded out East’s scorecard wih a 50. Ashley Liu shot a team-best 51 for Methacton.

Girls volleyball

PERKIOMEN VALLEY 3, POTTSGROVE 0 » The Vikings dropped the Falcons in straight sets during this non-divisional PAC match.

Set scores were 25-5, 25-8 and 25-8. Leading the way for Perk Valley was Liz Caruso (10 aces, seven digs). Srab Straub added seven aces and four kills while Lia Torrillo had six aces and a pair of kills. METHACTON 3, OWEN J. ROBERTS 0 » The Warriors imroved to 2-1 in the PAC with a win in straight sets over the Wildcats.

Set scores were 25-20, 25-9 and 25-14. Emma Eglinton had 29 assists with an ace, Carli Ginther added 14 digs and two aces while Melinda Eglinton posted eight kills and seven aces. Other statistica­l standouts for the Warriors were Lauren Stenley (nine kills), Sydney Zerbe (seven kills) and Elly Brunt (seven digs, two aces).

Nadja Townsend put together a 7-6 (10-4), 6-4 win at No. 1 singles while Kay Mahon and Nour Mimouni added wins in second and third doubles, respective­ly. The No. 2 doubles pairing of Katie Carroll/Gabby Timoteo added a 6-0, 6-0 decision in the win.
