Before Labor Day with the price of gas going up there was a big article in all the papers saying that after Labor Day the price of gas should come down. Well it just want up 8 to 10 cents a gallon this past week. So what’s going on?

For all the people that are picking on President Trump for cheating, check your own spouses. The Bible says “Who lives without sin casts the first stone.”

Serena Williams’ actions at the U.S. Open were appalling. Naomi beat her soundly. Serena’s disgraceful tantrum and entitlement was painful to watch. Even in defeat she managed to make it all about her.

I refute the statement that Obama was more tough than Trump on Russia. President Trump’s Russian policy speaks for itself. He expelled 60 Russian diplomats, approved a $47 million arms sale to Ukraine, posted troops in Poland bordering Russia and twice bombed Syria. Obama’s hotwire instructions to Putin’s foreign secretary telling that “After my election I’ll have more flexibility” was never investigated or explained. —Martha

Were you lucky enough to hear former President Barack Obama speak the other day? Now that’s what an intelligent man and a great leader sounds like. Doesn’t it make you feel cheated? It certainly does me.

I would like to know if somebody could tell me what happened to Ed Hanna, the Reading area newsman. He hasn’t been on for a long while now. I was wondering whether he was sick or quit or moved away.

Just wondering in this age of technology do the people who used to live paycheck to paycheck now live direct deposit to direct deposit? —Jim Fitch

Have hope America, there is light at the end of the tunnel. Mr. Obama’s appearance on the political scene reassures us that articulate thinking men, men of grace and high moral character, still care what happens to Americans and their country. —Frattbak

Hallelujah the vegetarian cats on Cherry Lane have been caught and sadly met their fate. Your vegetable gardens are now safe. We need an agency that traps squirrels, rabbits and birds which cause greater damage than cats. Anyone know where I can buy canned vegetables for cats? I’d like to donate some to the rescues for the vegetarian cats. Thanks to all the heartless residents of Cherry Lane. I pray that God will bless you with compassion and a conscience.

“Soldiers take a knee in front of a fallen brother’s grave.” These are not my words but rather the words of Nate Boyer, former Green Beret and pro football player, who suggested to Kaepernick that he kneel to show his respect for the military or anyone who has died to protect our freedoms. To say there are no injustices towards minorities in this country especially under the leadership of this president is ludicrous. This is why Kaepernick chose to kneel. —Lord Liv

Between the Catholic priests and the super moguls of Hollywood the courts will be full of perverts for the next 10 years. Amazing. Where do we go from here?

I’d like to congratulate the Pottstown Street Department for doing such a fantastic job on the storm drains over this past weekend and hopefully they’ll do a better job this week when the hurricane comes. If I’d have known that I would’ve bought a boat instead of a car. But that’s Pottstown, you’ve got to figure that out.

This is for Miss Trauner, administrative director of Hobart’s Run Pottstown and part of Friday’s “Party in White.” Sheridan Street in Hobart’s Run is a good place to have a party of potholes. Is no one living there calling the borough and requiring street repair? Amazing. —Bruce Madara

Donald said the book “Fear” is a hoax. He says he’s going to write his own book. He won’t have time to write a book, he’s playing golf all the time, 25 percent of the time. Besides that he has to testify in front of Mueller, either in front of Muller or in front of the grand jury. You know what they say “Pay me now or pay me later.” —Jay Miller

For the reader who said the Boyertown railroad yard looks beautiful one minute... I must have missed that minute. The railroad yard is the eyesore of Boyertown, and Pottstown rejoice that it didn’t move to your town and Boyertown is stuck with it.

The ex divider in chief has to rear his head. His agenda of dividing and destroying our country has been turned around. Everything they have accused Trump of is everything they were doing. The people who aren’t deceived need to stand strong against the evil that is trying to destroy our great Republic. God bless America. —Lady Di

Cory Booker’s performance at the confirmation hearings was intended for the militant base of the Democratic Party. Nothing more, nothing less.
