Lane restrictions planned on Route 422 near Pottstown
Route 422 motorists will encounter lane closures in both directions for construction activities.
The work is part of a project to rebuild 1.6 miles of Route 422 and construct new structures over the Schuylkill River and Norfolk Southern railroad tracks in Lower Pottsgrove Township, PennDOT announced. The work schedule is: • Sunday, Sept. 16, from 4:00 p.m. to 5:00 a.m. the following morning, alternating left and right lane closures are scheduled on eastbound Route 422 between the Keim Street and Sanatoga interchanges;
• Monday, Sept. 17, from 6:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m., the left lane is scheduled to close on westbound Route 422 between the Sanatoga and Armand Hammer Boulevard interchanges;
• Tuesday, Sept. 18, from 6:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m., alternating left and right lane closures are scheduled on westbound Route 422 between the Sanatoga and Armand Hammer Boulevard interchanges;
• Tuesday, Sept. 18, and Wednesday, Sept. 19, from 7:00 p.m. to 7:00 a.m. the following morning, the right lane is scheduled to close on westbound Route 422 between the Sanatoga and Armand Hammer Boulevard interchanges;
• Thursday, Sept. 20, and Friday, Sept. 21, from 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m., the right lane is scheduled to close on eastbound Route 422 between the Keim Street and Sanatoga interchanges; and
• Thursday, Sept. 20, and Friday, Sept. 21, from 6:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m., the right lane is scheduled to close on westbound Route 422 between the Sanatoga and Armand Hammer Boulevard interchanges.
Drivers are advised to allow extra time when traveling on Route 422 through the work areas because backups and delays will occur. These operations are weather dependent.
