Baitinger lifts Perk Valley past Methacton

Kelly Baitinger scored on a feed from Danielle Hamm as time expired at the end of the first half and the Perkiomen Valley field hockey team preserved a 1-0 shutout in a win over Methacton, last year’s Pioneer Athletic Conference champion.

Ashley Derrick needed just three saves in goal for PV, which out-shot Methacton 10-3 in the Liberty Division matchup. Molly Frey had eight saves for Methacton and Rachel Alderfer had a defensive save. SPRING-FORD 4, BOYERTOWN 0» The Rams scored all of their goals during the second half en route to a PAC Liberty Division win over the Bears.

Alexa Collins netted a hat trick while Kate Crist had a goal and an assist in the win. Ashley Della Guardia needed just one save in the cage to preserve the shutout while Spring-Ford put 10 shots on goal. UPPER PERKIOMEN 6, POTTSGROVE 0 » The Tribe scored five goals during their second-half outburst on the way to a PAC Frontier Division win over the Falcons.

Abriana Gatto and AiYi Young each scored twice and added a pair of assists while Michaela Greczek and Luci Carpenter each scored once. POTTSTOWN 1, UPPER MERION 1 » The Trojans and Vikings settled for a PAC Frontier draw. Courtney Bratten, assisted by Debra Lauly, scored the Trojans’ lone goal. Chaisy Jules and Lillian Stirk combined for 5 saves. OWEN J. ROBERTS 12, NORRISTOWN 1 » Jenna Kirby and Bridget Gallagher each netted hat tricks in the Wildcats’ PAC Liberty Division rout of the Eagles.

Emily Himmelreic­h added a pair of goals while Maddi Koury, Olivia LeClaire, Payton Hansen and Molly Fedick each scored once.

Girls soccer

POTTSTOWN 9, NORRISTOWN 3» The Trojans exploded for eight first-half goals and earned just their second PAC victory in 10 years.

Aniya Hoskins, Calista Daye and Bryonna Chimbinja each had two goals and an assist while Yasmin Paez had a goal and three assists for Pottstown, which was coming off a 2-2 PAC draw with Upper Merion on Thursday. Pottstown got its first PAC win last season in a 4-0 decision over the Eagles.

Other scorers for the Trojans were Kaleigh Martin and Brooklyn Colegrove. Goalie Emme Wolfel made six saves.

For Norristown, Emily Schools had two goals and Ashley Schools rounded out the scoring.

Boys soccer

HILL SCHOOL 4, GERMANTOWN ACADEMY 0 » Hale Lombard scored twice in the first half (5th minute, 26th minute), the first on a through ball from Josh Shepherd and the second on a cross from Aidan Sullivan while earning the Blues’ first road win of the season. Shepherd extended Hill’s lead to 3-0 (Lombard assist) in the 49th minute. Sullivan closed The Hill’s scoring on a free kick in the 63rd minute. Blake Groff posted his first clean sheet with relief from Alan Kim. The two combined on six saves. WEST-MONT CHRISTIAN 4, CALVARY BAPTIST 0 » The Wings remain undefeated after their shutout of Calvary Baptist. The team is now 5-0 on the season.

Girls volleyball

PERKIOMEN VALLEY 3, PHOENIXVIL­LE 1 » After dropping the first set, the Vikings rallied back on the way to a PAC win over the Phantoms.

Leading the way for Perk Valley was Grace Herbein with four aces, eight kills and 19 assists. Sarah Straub added 17 kills while Liz Caruso has 21 digs. Set scored were 21-25, 25-14, 25-18 and 28-26. OWEN J. ROBERTS 3, NORRISTOWN 1 » The Wildcats won in four sets, 21-25, 25-22, 2513, 25-14.

OJR leaders were Michelle Frank (12 kills, 9 digs), Mikayla Johnson (13 kills, 9 digs), Jordyn Chambers (32 assists), Catherine Cervi (6 blocks, 2 kills) and Gabi Tamburro (7 kills, 2 assists, 2 digs). CALVARY BAPTIST 3, WESTMONT CHRISTIAN 2 » The Wings lost to Calvary Baptist in 5 sets in Atlantic Coast Christian Conference play. Set scores were 2519, 20-25, 26-24, 14-25, 1015. For West-Mont, Rachel Hetrick recorded 11 assists, Kara Newton and Lauren Houck had 17 and 33 digs, respective­ly. PERKIOMEN SCHOOL 3, FAITH CHRISTIAN 0 » The Panthers picked up a non-conference win over Faith Christian in three sets.

Set scores were 25-15, 2520 and 25-15.

Girls tennis

SPRING-FORD 6, GREAT VALLEY1» A sweep of the singles bracket was key to the Rams in their non-league match with the Patriots.

Tori Alexander led Spring-Ford with her 6-0, 6-0 sweep at first singles. Rachel Reiniger and Casey Goldstein had a solid 6-1, 6-0 win at first doubles. POTTSGROVE 7, OCTORARA 0» The first-doubles team of Grace Myers and Samme Marazas had the best individual showing for the Falcons in their non-league victory over the Braves.

Myers and Marazas won their match 6-0, 6-1. Pottsgrove got another solid outing from Jaelyn Kennedy, who won at fourth singles 6-2, 6-0.
