Read what friends and neighbors have to say

-

Take a look at what friends and neighbors are saying about local hot topics and join in on the conversation.

Mark Furlong, you seem like a guy who is aware enough to read the New York Times unless you believe your president who thinks that it’s a failing newspaper. Apparently you didn’t read last Sunday’s New York Times Magazine which focused entirely on teachers. You need to read it all, particularly an article called “The second shift, what teachers are doing to pay their bills” by Jaime Lowe. People like you need a reality check ASAP.

Vote all of the Democrats out unless you want lies and corruption for the rest of your life.

To the person who criticized Embarrassed Democrat, you say Obama served for eight years without one indictment or scandal. Really? Do you have your blinders on?

I’ve been fortunate to have good extremities throughout my life. My legs have carried me everywhere. My arms have allowed me to earn a good living and I have always been able to count on my fingers.

How much you are influenced by what you see, the order in which you see it or whether you see it at all is important to consider. Trump is onto something when he notes that a few powerful companies controlling what you do and don’t see is worrisome. It’s also the whole idea of the deep state to control the masses by controlling the press and public conversation.

According to Barnes and Noble they sold out the book “Fear,” the fastest selling in three years of any book. Get it while it’s hot. Very good book.

—Jay Miller

The diocese of Pittsburgh reached an undisclosed five-figure out-ofcourt settlement with a victim from Allegheny County. There are at least 50 more victims we know that are suing the church. The church is having a summit but not until February 2019. It signals a realization at the highest levels of the church that clergy sex abuse is a global problem and not restricted to the Anglo Saxon world as many church leaders agree.

Martha, in your praise for Donald Trump’s handling of Russia, you failed to mention how many times Trump has taken the word of dictator and murderer Vladimir Putin over our own intelligence agencies. You do a pretty good job of cherry picking.

I see in the governor’s race in Pennsylvania Gov. Wolf has a pretty comfortable lead according to the polls. Since he has done absolutely nothing for the people of Pennsylvania in these four years, especially regarding the property tax elimination, it’s right that he has another four years to get that big increase passed like he’s been trying for the first three years. So people if you vote for him you better know what’s going to happen.

It’s unbelievable all these schools that are closed because of mold. Didn’t any of these intelligent people that run these schools realize that there was mold in their schools from all the rain we had before the first day of school started? This is ridiculous.

Lady Di, get real. Ex President Obama who you describe as divider in chief never had his morality questioned by friend and foe alike. Even Fox’s Hannity, Mr. Trump’s number one fan, had to agree to that. I suggest you are woefully uninformed and maybe you should read some books you describe as mean.

—Frattbak

It makes me laugh when some people think fancy rhetoric is a sign of intelligence and a great leader. For eight years the former president blocked our economy, increased our country’s debt more than all other presidents combined, ruined our health care system, made a disastrous pact with Iran, and weaponized our justice system. No thanks for that kind of intelligence. Lead on President Trump. Your actions speak, not an egotist’s rant.

I would like to tell you why Kaepernick chooses to kneel but they won’t print it.

Jay Miller, you’re obviously not happy living here in the USA. My proposal is that you, Joy Behar, Whoppi Goldberg and Bill Mahr move to a more suitable environment like Syria, North Korea or Venezuela and take columnist Kathleen Parker with you so that she can report back once in every 15 years or so. The good news is your ticket is on me.

—Jim Dandy

I thought it was uncanny that the very day Frattbak commented on how eloquent Obama spoke compared to Trump that there were two respected editorials chastising Obama for his classless behavior on the same speech. Frattbak thought it was the greatest. Another left winger Frattbak?

Many parents choose home schooling as a means of protecting their children from federal education reforms such as common core. Other parents are motivated by a desire to protect their children from the cultural Marxism that has infiltrated many schools.

I have a question. Are all white supremacists Republican?
