Hirst, Smith lead Methacton over Pottsgrove

Grace Hirst and Reilly Smith each scored a pair of goals for the Methacton field hockey team during a 6-0 win over Pottsgrove.

Katy Benton had a goal and an assist while Madison Noh rounded out the scoring with a single tally in this Pioneer Athletic Conference divisional crossover game. Elena Snodgrass and Liz Chipman each posted assists in the win while Molly Frey came away with the shutout in goal. POTTSTOWN 0, BOYERTOWN 0» The Trojans and Bears played to a scoreless tie during their PAC divisional crossover matchup.

Lillian Stirk and Chaisy Jules combined for 13 saves for Pottstown while Jayla Holloway made a defensive save during the overtime period. Laura Wigand needed to make just one save for Boyertown. PERKIOMEN VALLEY 12, UPPER MERION 0 » Perk Valley (9-0) continued their unbeaten start to the season with a rout of Upper Merion in a PAC crossover allVikings matchup.

Teresa Bartkowski, Marie Lindberger and Cristina Dougherty had a goal and two assists while Katie Wuerstle and Kelly Baitinger had a goal and an assist.

Phoenixvil­le led in the first half through Ameerah Green, but Bridget Gallagher drew the Wildcats level before half. OJR (7-1) out-shot Phoenixvil­le 14-1. Abby Delgrosso had nine saves for the Phantoms. POPE JOHN PAUL II 8, NORRISTOWN 0 » Madisan Green scored three goals and Nina Mariano added two as the Golden Panthers rolled in a PAC crossover game.

PJP also got goals from Kelly Pires, Caroline Slattery and Annie Rathgeb.

Boys soccer

POTTSGROVE 3, UPPER MORELAND 3 » The Falcons settled for a non-league draw when Upper Moreland scored with 43 seconds left in regulation.

Pottsgrove led 2-0 after 15 minutes on goals from Sebastian Paez and Collin Deckert with Deckert and Ethan Pace assisting. But Upper Moreland leveled before Deckert, assisted by Shane Gleason, regained the lead for Pottsgrove with 5:16 to play, a lead that lasted less than a minute too short.

Pottsgrove led in shots, 12-10. Keeper Luke Kaiser had seven saves.

POTTSTOWN 1, KUTZTOWN 0 » Aniya Hoskins finished a pass from Yasmin Paez late in the second half as the Trojans downed the Cougars in a non-conference matchup. Goalie Emme Wolfel had six saves to earn the shutout. PERKIOMEN VALLEY 4, UPPER MERION 0 » PV kicked into overdrive with three goals in an eight-minute span in the second half to down Upper Merion in a PAC crossover. Sydney Marasco headed in a Cassidy Polignano corner kick in the first half. Polignano, Nikki Foller-Moll and Colleen O’Brien scored in the scoring spurt beginning in the 47th minute. Assists went to Foller-Moll, Maddie Zielke and Courtney Lawson. Riley Hill and Kristin O’Donnell each had one save for PV; UM’s Jordyn Skidds made nine saves. STRATH HAVEN 1, METHACTON 0 » Danielle McNelly scored six minutes into the overtime period as the Panthers dropped the Warriors in a non-league meeting. PERKIOMEN SCHOOL 1, FRIENDS CENTRAL 1 » The Panthers played to a draw during their non-conference matchup against Friends Central.

Rianne Moll evened it up during the second half, scoring off an assist from Cece Vassalli. Abbey Glavin made 34 saves in goal, beaten only by Izzy MacFarland’s goal during the first half.

DOWNINGTOW­N WEST 195, SPRING-FORD 200 » Lily Byrne turned in a 7-over 35 as the Whippets beat the Rams in a PAC match at Gilbertsvi­lle G.C.

Rosie Byrne followed with a 48 while Clara Huston (52) and Jillian Graff (53) rounded out the scorecard. Amelia DiCicco shot a 45 while Aleena Ghanta posted a 49.

SPRING-FORD 7, PERKIOMEN VALLEY 0 » Tori Alexander’s 6-1, 6-2 decision at first singles set the tone in the Rams’ PAC victory over the Vikings.

Kathryn Alvarez and Isabel Mejia each picked up wins at respective second and third singles. The pairing of Rachel Reiniger/ Casey Goldstein posted a 6-4, 6-2 win at first doubles. METHACTON 6, PHOENIXVIL­LE 1 » The first-doubles team of Anna Ryu and Angie Kuang had the best individual showing for the Warriors in their PAC match with the Phantoms.

Ryu/Kuang won by a 6-1, 6-0 score. Phoenixvil­le’s point came from Alex Rieg at third singles. UPPER MERION 6, UPPER PERKIOMEN 1 » The Vikings swept through the singles bracket on the way to a PAC win over the Tribe.

Maddy Gochnauer, Skyler Gionfriddo and Olivia Sharadin posted wins at first through third singles. Upper Perk’s lone win came at No. 2 doubles where Gail Kooser and Olivia Dick posted a 6-4, 6-0 decision. BOYERTOWN 6, POTTSTOWN 1» Though understaff­ed again, the Trojans got a winning show from Sierra Everett in their PAC match with the Bears.

Everett won at first singles 6-1, 6-3. It was all Boyertown the rest of the way, the best individual effort a 6-1, 6-0 outing at first doubles from Jade Slaughter and Natalie Zaleski. HILL SCHOOL 5, DELCO CHRISTIAN 0 » The play of Elena Zhang and Melissa Xu sparked the Blues in their non-league match with Delco Christian.

Zhang and Xu won their respective first- and secondsing­les duels in straight sets. Haley Wisniewski and Carla Canales added a solid outing at third doubles, winning 6-1, 6-0.

Spring-Ford leaders were Olivia Olsen (15 kills), Grace Kraft (22 digs, 4 aces), Lauren Beppel (12 assists) and Abby Goodrich (5 kills, 4 digs, 2 blocks). PERKIOMEN SCHOOL 3, GEORGE SCHOOL 0 » The Panthers swept their nonleague match with George by set scored of 25-11, 25-16 and 25-12.

Elle Stauffer and Meaghan Toscano rounded out the Hill offense.
