A second shed is being raffled off
SOUTH COVENTRY » The battle wages on during the Rotelle Studio(e) He vs. She Shed challenge, as the public continues to vote for its favorite backyard shed and a chance to win one of the completed structures.
Throughout the summer, the male and female teams at custom home builder Rotelle Studio(e) were pitted against each other to turn a traditional garden storage shed into a unique outdoor living space.
The sheds were unveiled to the public Sept. 15 during Rotelle Studio(e)’s second annual Dream Big Custom Home event. More than 450 people turned out to see the sheds and to meet Ty Pennington of “Trading Spaces” and “Extreme Makeover: Home Edition” fame.

“Our second annual Dream BIG Custom Home event could not have gone any better. It was over-the-top and fantastic. We had a packed house, revealed our two incredible He and She Sheds that look more like cottages, and there was no rain in sight,” said Peter Rotelle, president and owner of Rotelle Studio(e).
The He Shed, designed by Rotelle’s men’s team, has been chosen as the shed to be auctioned off. The online auction kickedoff Sept. 21 and will continue through Oct. 7.
Proceeds from the auction will benefit Ashley Addiction Treatment, in Havre de Grace, Md. The facility has served more than 45,000 patients and their families since its founding in 1983, including thousands from the Philadelphia region.
“We hope to use this unique and fun online auction to literally ‘shed’ more light on the substance abuse epidemic in our country and the healing mission of Ashley,” Rotelle said.
In addition, votes are being accepted online for the fan favorite shed. From those votes, one person will be selected to win the shed designed by the women’s team. Voting will continue through Oct. 7.

According to the auction bidding site, which is housed on www.charityauctionstoday.com, the opening bid for the He Shed is $5,000.
Work on the sheds was carried out over the summer, with teams working at separate locations. The teams used re-purposed and reclaimed materials to design and furnish their 12-by-14-foot sheds.
While the work was done in secret, with neither team seeing the other’s work, Rotelle said there were two hidden surprises in the final designs that he felt show how much synergy the company has.
On the He Shed, there is one wall that lifts completely up, while the She Shed has a roof that opens.
“We came up with two completely out of this world concepts. They aren’t identical but they are in the same category. In designing separately we came up with similar outrageous ideas,” Rotelle said.
The men’s team included Rotelle; Chief Operating Officer, Anthony Holowsko; and Senior Project Manager, Ken Zimmerman. The custom home builder’s women’s team included Chief Architect, Heather Ryan; Chief Designer, Renée Pratt; and Design Consultant, Emily Wisler.
“It’s hard to think of 2019’s Dream Big Event and what the team will have to come up with to top this year’s extravaganza, because it was so off the hook,” Rotelle added. “However, rest assured we’ll pull another rabbit out of our hat and outdo this past year, but for now I just want to enjoy our teams’ success and relish the memorable event.”
