Kirby lifts OJR past Methacton 2-1 in OT

Jenna Kirby scored the game-winning goal at the 10:53 mark in the overtime period to give the Owen J. Roberts field hockey team a 2-1 win over Methacton in a rematch of last season’s Pioneer Athletic Conference championsh­ip game.

Bridget Gallagher accounted for OJR’s lone goal in regulation. Katy Benton scored Methacton’s only goal with a feed from Alexa Kratz while Molly Frey made four saves in the cage. HILL SCHOOL 8, WESTTOWN 0» Alex Conway had a part in seven of the Blues’ goals during their non-conference win over Westtown.

Conway scored four times and added three assists in the win, which also featured goals by Taylor Duffany, Riley Bauer, Josephine Palde and Emily Rakos. Logan Clouser was credited with four assists. POTTSTOWN 3, ACADEMY PARK 0 » Destri Roye scored twice in the Trojans’ nonconfere­nce win over the Knights.

Elsie Cannell added a goal for the Pottstown while Lillian Stirk and Chasy Jules combined for two saves to preserve the shutout. TWIN VALLEY 5, BOYERTOWN 0» The Bears dropped a non-conference matchup against the Raiders.

Laura Wigand made 20 saves in goal for Boyertown.

Kender Perez and Ethan Pace were credited with goals while Phoenixvil­le keeper Gavin Perillo made seven saves. UPPER MERION 2, POPE JOHN PAUL II 1 » Josh Reinhardt scored with 1:20 left in the second overtime period to lift the Vikings over the Golden Panthers in this PAC Frontier Division matchup.

UM got on the scoreboard in the 26th minute off an own goal before PJP responded when Justin Russel finished a give from David Lattanze. PJP keeper John Wagner came up with nine saves in goal. BOYERTOWN 6, NORRISTOWN 0» Dimitrije Randjelovi­c figured in on three goals while Ryan Foskey scored twice in the Bears’ PAC Liberty Division rout of the Eagles.

Randjelovi­c had a goal and two assists while Nick Willson (assist), Ryan Burkhardt and Derek Direolf (assist) rounded out the scoring. Assists were also credited to Colin Brisbois and Antonio Toscano while Tanner McCafferty finished with a clean sheet in goal. UPPER PERKIOMEN 9, POTTSTOWN 0 » Upper Perk cruised to a PAC Frontier win over the Trojans while getting two goals each from Mike Sitko and Anthony Durrant. Other goals came from Nick Mattson, Jack Cupitt, Kyle Shemeley and John Leone while John McMichael (2) and David Schwab had assists. HILL SCHOOL 9, WEST-MONT CHRISTIAN 1 » The Blues took a five-goal lead and went on to a non-league win over the neighborin­g Wings.

Zach Barrett, Noah Toole and Ryan Woolley had two goals each for Hill while Alberto Fernandez (two assists), Euan Forrest and Jordan Mugisha had solo tallies. Caleb Gerdeman and Sam Beckett served two assists each.

UPPER PERKIOMEN 2, POTTSTOWN 0 » Emily Schaut scored in the fifth minute and Kaitlyn Mundy finished a penalty kick in the 74th as the Tribe downed the Trojans in a PAC Frontier Division matchup.

Schaut’s goal came off a feed from Hannah Keeney. Hannah Landis made seven saves in goal to preserve the shutout while Pottstown keeper Emme Wolfel came away with 11 stops. MALVERN PREP 195, HILL SCHOOL 228 » Echo Wu was the low man for the Blues in their non-conference loss during a nine-hole match at Applebrook Golf Club.

Wu shot a team best 39 while Billy Gussler finished up at 42.

Girls tennis

PERKIOMEN VALLEY 4, PHOENIXVIL­LE 3 » The Vikings’ sweep through the doubles bracket was the difference in this PAC match against the Phantoms.

The No. 1 doubles pairing of Olivia Newman/Emily Shoemaker posted a 4-6, 6-2, 6-3 decision while Gabby Timoteo/Katie Carroll win 7-5, 6-4 at second doubles. The duos of Gracie Strohecker/Kaitlyn Murphy and Meghana Sahasrabud­de/Kayla Nassoiy also picked up doubles wins.
