Dance One Studios 20th Anniversary Celebration includes Lincoln Center Performance
Exciting plans are underway at Dance One Studios as it ushers in a yearlong celebration to mark its 20th year of operation in its beautiful three-story facility. Although Dance One Studios’ fall schedule is overflowing with exciting holiday celebrations, Bring A Friend, and their magical informal Nutcracker (which this year is moving to a larger facility due to its popularity), performing on the Lincoln Center Stage for the second time in 20 years will be the highlight of this special year. After Dance One’s three companies; Do Tap, Dance One Contemporary Ballet Company, and Do Crew (Dance One’s Hip Hop Company) performance last year on the prestigious stage of Carnegie Hall, all three companies were immediately approached to perform this January at Lincoln Center. The companies got to work right away holding auditions this past spring so that they could prepare all summer. The dedication of these 25 dancers, ages 12 through 18, under the direction of their associate directors, Amanda Urbanski, Angelica Spilis, and Jessica Goodale, is undeniable as they juggle school, outside activities, dance classes and rehearsals.
Following the Lincoln Center performance in January, preparations for their Gala Celebration/Concert the second weekend in March, to be held at Kutztown University, will be underway. Besides the three companies’ repertoire, Dance One’s Apprentice Company DOCBT II is highlighted, as well as, DC’s Army — their junior hip hop club for ages 8 and up.
The celebration continues in April as Dance One Studios performs on Disney World’s Marketplace Stage in Orlando, Florida. Certain classes, ages 9 through 18 have been selected for this honor and unforgettable experience. Dance One Studios offers their students and families this opportunity every other year, but it’s not too late to register for one of the Disney classes and become part of this year’s Disney performance!
Dance One Studios is located on Route 724 between Douglassville and Pottstown. The building, a 150-year-old renovated barn features three separate studios, two of which are surrounded in fieldstone and beautiful timbers creating a truly inspirational environment. There is also a dedicated area for the younger students, the Creative Kingdom, complete with disco ball and castle torches where parents are always welcome. Some other features of the Dance One facility include professional floated heated Marley floors, two waiting areas for parents with closed circuit TV, a reception area, changing room for dancers, and a conference room and teacher’s lounge.
Dance One Studios offers instruction in all styles of dance, for the 3-year-old through adult, in a relaxed and fun environment.
