Christ Lutheran

Barto — The community is invited to Christ Lutheran Church, 222 Niantic Road, from 1 to 4 p.m. today for tours, informatio­n and a concert by the Boyertown Alumni Ceremonial Band from 2 to 3 p.m. The afternoon will end with an Ice Cream Social in the social hall at 353 Congo-Niantic Road.

St. John’s Lutheran

Phoenixvil­le — St. John’s Lutheran Church, 355 St. John’s Circle, presents “Silver, Wood and Ivory” in concert, at 4 p.m. on Sunday. Silver, wood and ivory are three creations of beauty found in nature. When you add the musical inspiratio­ns of Tracy Dietrich and Cindy Wittenberg, it transform into a celestial musical journey. Whether it’s a familiar song that causes memories to come flooding back or a new melody that creates a sense of calm, Silver Wood and Ivory has created a body of work that will satisfy everyone’s melodic appetite. Together, this twoperson orchestra of classicall­y trained artists have fashioned a tapestry of music that stirs the soul.

There is no admission charge although a free-will offering will be received. A reception follows the concert. Arrive early as a full house is anticipate­d.

Calvary UCC

Barto — The Fall Flea Market, Craft Show and Bake Sale will take place from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. today at Calvary United Church of Christ, 1231 Route 100.

All are welcome to the 10:15 a.m. worship on Sunday. Linda Holliday will be back to share her gifts of ventriloqu­ism, humor and magic. Linda joined us last year for rally day and was well received with requests to invite her back, so she will be sharing her program as our message on this day.

First Presbyteri­an

Pottstown — Faithful Friends will gather for lunch, and the Jr. Seekers will be heading to Monocacy Hill for a hike following the 10:30 a.m. worship on Sunday at First Presbyteri­an Church. Third Graders will be welcomed to the Preparatio­n for the Lord’s Table at 4:30 p.m.

Emmanuel Lutheran

Pottstown — There will be a special joint service at 10 a.m. on Sunday with Grace Lutheran Church at Emmanuel Lutheran Church, 150 North Hanover St. Fellowship following service. Joint Bible Study at 9 a.m. New service time at 10:45 a.m. begins Oct. 7.

American Red Cross Blood Drive will be held from 2 to 7 p.m. on Wednesday. Walk-ins welcome.

First UCC

Royersford — Rev. Kim Kendrick, the chaplain at Bethany Children’s Home, will be the guest pastor at the 11 a.m. Worship Service on Sunday at First United Church of Christ, 367 Washington St.

St. John’s UCC

Pottstown — The semiannual roast beef dinner will be held from 4 to 7 p.m. today at St. John’s United Church of Christ, 11 St. Price St. The meal is served family style and includes potato filling, green beans, corn, cole slaw, rolls and dessert along with the roast beef. The price is $12 for adults, $5 for children over 5 and under 5 years of age is free. All are welcome.

St. Peter’s Lutheran

Pottstown — The Youth Choir will sing at the 10:30 a.m. service on Sunday at St. Peter’s Lutheran Church, 564 Glasgow St.

St. Peter’s Church Women will host the WELCA Meeting of the Upper Montgomery Lutheran Bible Study on Tuesday from 9 a.m. to noon in the church parlor.

St. Peter’s Lutheran Church Women (LCW) will meet on Tuesday at 7 p.m. Guest Speaker will be Gladys McGrath on the topic “Hymns of the Church and Composers.” Devotions Leader will be Joy Taglieber. Hostesses are Nancy Dunning and Sherry Mann.

St. Paul’s UCC

Pottstown — An Outdoor Yard Sale will be held from 7 a.m. until noon today at St. Paul’s United Church of Christ, 927 N. Franklin St. Toys, games, household items, etc. At the Yard Sale, tickets will be available to purchase for the FamilyStyl­e Pot Pie Dinner on Saturday, Oct. 6, from 4 to 7 p.m. at the church. Cost is Adults $10; Children 6 to 10 years $5; and 5 years and under are free.

St. Luke’s Lutheran

Obelisk — A Community Day event will be held Saturday, September 29 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. today at Saint Luke’s Lutheran Church, Route 73 and Neiffer Road. The community is invited to attend.

Harvest Festival will be celebrated at the 10:15 a.m. worship service on Sunday. Food will be collected and delivered after the service to the Daily Bread Community Food Pantry.

Coventryvi­lle UMC

Pottstown —The Thrift Shop is open today from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Coventryvi­lle United Methodist Church, 1521 Old Ridge Road.

St. Luke Lutheran

Gilbertsvi­lle — The annual Men’s Breakfast will be held on Sunday in the pavilion at St. Luke Lutheran Church, 35 Wilson Ave.

Following the 9:30 a.m. worship on Sunday there will be a refresher and/or introducto­ry session for all deacons, lectors and subdeacons, or those wanting to be deacons, lectors and subdeacons. If unable to attend Sunday’s session, come Tuesday night, Oct. 9.

The Community Clothing Rack will be open from 1 to 4 p.m. on Wednesday for clothing donation.

Trinity UCC

Pottstown — Members of Trinity United Church of Christ, 60 N. Hanover St., are gearing up for their annual Craft Fair on Saturday, Oct. 6, from 9 t 2 p.m. Proceeds from the event will go to the Capital Improvemen­t Fund.

Bethel Community

Pottstown — The Memorial Service for Teresa Manley will take place today at 11 a.m. in the Main Sanctuary at Bethel Community Church of Pottston, 575 N. Keim St.

On Sunday at 9:15 a.m., it’s Members, Family and Friends at Sunday School. At 10:30 a.m., it’s the first Annual Family and Friends Day with Reverend Darrell Brown Jr., Pastor of New Hope Baptist Church of Paoli as guest preacher. The Praise Power Choir will be singing.

Zion’s UCC

Pottstown — Guest minister Rev.Phyllis Baum will lead the 10:15 a.m. worship service on Sunday at Zion’s United Church of Christ, Hanover and Chestnut streets. Keith Clatterbur­g is supply organist and will lead the choir. He will also play a piano solo for the offertory.

Ping Pong and Pizza will continue at 6 p.m. on Wednesday.

First Baptist

Pottstown — There will be a Memorial Service for Nancy P. Fox today at First Baptist Church, King and Charlotte streets. Visitation at 1:15 p.m., service at 2 p.m. and refreshmen­ts following.

There will be a reception for our retired organists on Sunday. We are thankful for the many years of faithful service they have provided.
