Names of 2 found dead after kitchen fire released

PENN HILLS, PA. >> Authoritie­s have released the names of an elderly man and woman found dead following a kitchen fire in their western Pennsylvan­ia home.

The Allegheny County medical examiner’s office says 96-year-old Leslie Frost and 95-year-old Marianne Frost were found dead after Saturday’s fire in the Penn Hills home.

Fire crews responding to the blaze shortly before 10 a.m. Saturday found the bodies of the couple. No one else was in the home and no other injuries were reported.

Fire Marshal Chuck Miller ruled the fire accidental. He says the blaze apparently started in the kitchen as the two were cooking and they were apparently overcome bysmoke.

The county medical examiner’s office will determine the official cause and manner of death.

Pizza deliveryma­n slain in daytime Pittsburgh robbery

PITTSBURGH >> Authoritie­s in western Pennsylvan­ia say a pizza deliveryma­n was shot and killed during a daytime robbery in Pittsburgh.

Police say the 59-year-old man who worked for a Domino’s nearby was killed just after getting out of his car with two pizzas apparently ordered to an apartment building in the East Liberty neighborho­od.

Police spokesman Chris Togneri says a witness reported hearing a man yell “Give me your money! Give me your money!” and then a gunshot shortly before 12:30 p.m. Saturday.

The body of the victim, whose name wasn’t released, was found on the sidewalk in front of the apartment building, a pizza box and pizza delivery bag on the sidewalk next to him. The suspect fled and police don’t know if the victim was robbed.

Bicyclist struck, killed by vehicle near Philadelph­ia

WARRINGTON, PA. >> 14-year-old bicyclist was struck and killed by a vehicle in suburban Philadelph­ia over the weekend.

Warrington Township police said the rider was struck on Lower State Road at about 10 p.m. Saturday in the township’s Eureka section.

The name of the victim wasn’t immediatel­y released. Officials Police say a said the driver of the vehicle stopped and assisted the cyclist until police and medics arrived.

The type of vehicle involved wasn’t immediatel­y disclosed. The cause of the crash is under investigat­ion and any witnesses are asked to call police.
