Regarding future health care, Donald Trump on Medicare/Medicaid, “I will never touch Medicare and Medicaid.” Mitch McConnell three weeks ago, “It’s on our agenda to cut Medicare and Medicaid and maybe eliminate them.” Promises kept? Not by this president. All you senior citizens better be aware, you’re voting for him, you love him. You won’t love him if your benefits get cut.

We need to send a message on election day. If you haven’t gotten the job done we need to elect new people. That’s the message we have to send. I really could care less if they’re Republicans or Democrats but they need to know if they get elected they better accomplish something or the next election they will be gone.

In response to the dialog about lanternflies and residents’ responsibility, we all know that some residents will do their part and others will not. Also the township must take responsibility for the mall areas, parks, roadway areas, etc. It is the township’s responsibility to do something. Residents can’t do it alone.

If you believe what Donald says we should all be very afraid of the caravan of refugees at our southern border. Come on people this is America. We’re a big strong country, over 300 million people live here. The group at the border wouldn’t fill up one end of a football stadium and we should be frightened? It’s just ludicrous. —Steve Nissle

Maybe the Green Lane Republican should thank two Democratic presidents Franklin D. Roosevelt and Lyndon B. Johnson for initiating Social Security and Medicare and remember that Republicans have been trying to destroy these programs for decades.

You can’t be in any job and lie and lie and lie to the people over and over and not have something happen with that job especially when you’re president of the United States. Donald Trump just announced that Congress and he are working on a tax cut only for the middle class. I thought we just passed a tax cut for the middle class. I am confused to say the least. So the last tax cut was not for me and the rest of the hard-working people? Then the tax cut was for the rich. Also he said it would be passed by Nov. 1. How will Congress do that as they are not even in session? —DP

Perhaps Boyertown could get a grant to help them fix the street lights on South Reading Avenue. Those lights have not been operating for quite some time now and it is very dark. So think about it and get solving the problem. —Boyertown Taxpayer Living On That Street

To the person worried about not voting Republican anymore because Trump supports North Korea, Russia, Saudi Arabia, let me tell you something. If the Democrats get in and take over everything in a few years you better learn a couple of different languages because you won’t be speaking English much longer.
