Take a look at what friends and neighbors are saying about local hot topics and join in on the conversation.

Good to hear that they’ve caught the mad bomber and he’s in custody. I understand that the fearless leader has said that none of his speeches had anything to do with inflaming that individual. If that’s true then I believe the right thing to do would be to insulate the rest of the world from possible people like that and the one way to start would be to stop broadcasting his political rallies. Give equal time to every candidate or shut him down.

What is going on with college football? It takes almost four hours to complete a football game. It is very ridiculous.

Trump said about the caravan, “I am bringing out the military for this national emergency.” They’re over 1,000 miles away and may not even make it because people are dropping off every few miles. Trump is using this as a scare tactic for his base and they love it. The last caravan that showed up only 12 people were arrested. Meanwhile the Republicans are going after our health care during this fear frenzy.

I have no choice but to use a local laundromat where I live but I cannot believe the condition that people leave the laundromat in when they leave. Things laying all over the floor that they are too lazy to pick it up or put their cart back. It’s sad, why can’t you put things back to where they were and pick them up? —Local Laundromat User

Hate crime is up from 2017 since Donald Trump took office 57 percent. What do you think about that people? Do you think he’s a good president? —Jay Miller

Amnesty International has estimated that 80 percent of the 7,000 illegals headed our way to storm the border are men under the age of 35. Once they step foot on U.S. soil, they will be given a hearing date and released; only 2 percent will show up for the hearing. We the taxpayers are being made fools of by the Democrats and illegals. —Converted Republican

Countries like Canada have historically imposed price controls on drugs, often with the implicit threat that patents would be violated if demands were not met. The result is higher drug costs for Americans who account for 70 percent of profits. New Trump regulations, phased in over five years, will require that U.S. pricing reflect that of the average elsewhere. —M. Furlong

I’d like to thank all of the nurses, staff and doctors who took care of my wife during her stay at the Phoenixville Hospital from the emergency room to the third, fourth and eventually the fifth floor. Their work ethics and professionalism was just exemplary again. —David Isansky If anyone has a copy of the 1955 North Country Yearbook I’m interested in buying it. Please call me at 484687-0623.

Have you noticed that whenever a horrific act perpetrated by a Trump supporter occurs our glorious president always blames somebody else — Democrats, the media or the supposed need for armed guards in schools or synagogues? He doesn’t get it. The problem is his inflammatory rant. Donnie, enough is enough of the hate and violence. —One Who Listens and Fears

I’m sorry to see the Grocery Outlet Bargain Market in Royersford close. Everyone used this store because they had such good deals and they will truly be missed. It was really a nice store. It will be sadly, sadly missed.

Jim Fitch, your recent comment in Sunday’s Sound Off is one of the most sexist remarks I have ever read or heard. It did not come off as a joke. How can you generalize women in that way? Unless you are a woman, you can’t possibly know the motivation behind a compliment. Shame on you.

My wife got $10.85 in Social Security raise under Trump. The Social Security tax was raised $10 a month. I want to thank Trump for the extra 85 cents a month. After taxes I cleared $2 after the Medicare tax. Let us not forget every working person had their Medicare tax increased.

I think there’s a lot of men in this world, rich, poor, whatever, who need an evaluation. Look how many people shave their head and let the hair grow on their face. It always was that you shaved your face and let the hair grow on your head. Something’s wrong. They’re backwards now.

In two years, regardless of the resistance and attacks, our economy is doing good. We never reached a 3 percent growth over eight years of the last administration. Less people on government assistance is a good thing also. The first tax cut was meant to get businesses and economy moving. Obviously worked but the liberals want to go backwards. Who merely doesn’t see that? God will continue to bless America. —Lady Di
