Donna J. Barker of Pottstown

Donna J. (Wilt) Barker, 81, of Pottstown, PA, passed away on Monday, October 29, 2018 at Lehigh Valley Hospital – Cedar Crest. She was the wife of the late Albert Barker.

Born in Hollidaysburg, PA, on July 18, 1937, Donna was the daughter of the late Melvin and Violet (Wertz) Wilt.

Donna worked as the Front-End Manager for more than 30 years at A&P Food Store; later known as Super Fresh.

She enjoyed spending time with her family, playing cards and taking trips. Over the years Donna was an active participate in a local walker’s group, a biking/hiking group, a bowling league and the Red Hats. She was an accomplished seamstress making outfits for the church nativity play, and countless Halloween costumes.

She is survived by six children, Cynthia Kemner, wife of Charles; Kim Frost, wife of Patrick; James Henry, husband of Diane; Anna Marie Helinsky, wife of Raymond; Cathy Needhammer, wife of James; and Nancy Zurowski, wife of Thomas; and her companion for over twelve years, Donald Schafer. She is also survived by two sisters, one brother, and many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

She was predeceased by five brothers and three sisters.

Visitation will take place on Friday, November 2, 2018 from 12:00 p.m. – 1:00 p.m. at the Houck & Gofus Funeral Home, Inc., 955 N. Charlotte St., Pottstown, PA 19464. A memorial service will follow at 1:00 p.m. Inurnment will be private and held at the convenience of the family.
