Richard L. Detwiler, age 66, husband of Linda L. (Overdorf) Detwiler, of Upper Providence Township, PA, passed away Monday, October 29, 2018 in the Seasons Hospice, Phoenixvil­le.

Born on January 20, 1952, in Phoenixvil­le, PA, he was a son of the late Lawrence R. Sr. and Dorothy (Chrisman) Detwiler.

Rich was a 1969 graduate of Phoenixvil­le High School, where he also attended the Vo-Tech School. Rich retired as a Union Carpenter in 2004, and was a member of the Carpenters Union Local #167.

He was a member of the First UCC of Spring City. He also held membership­s at the Liberty Steam Fire Engine Company and the American Legion Post 602, both in Spring City. When not working, and in retirement, he continued to enjoy carpentry.

In addition to his wife, Rich is survived by two daughters, Kristen L. Detwiler of East Coventry Township, PA and Meredith L., wife of Joseph Bozzuto of Limerick Township, PA; one grandson, Hudson L. Bozzuto; one sister, Martha, wife of the late Robert Laird of Kimberton, PA; and three nephews. Mr. Detwiler was preceded in death by two siblings, Sgt. Lawrence R. Detwiler Jr., killed in Vietnam, and Barbara Mack.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend his memorial service at the Cattermole - Klotzbach Funeral Home, 600 Washington Street, Royersford on Saturday, November 3, 2018 at 11:00 am. Officiatin­g will be Rev. Erick J. Kern Jr. Burial will be held privately. Friends will be received from 10:00 am 11:00 am Saturday at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributi­ons may be made in his name, payable to the Phoenixvil­le Area High School, Attn: Maren Bhalla Counseling Office, 1200 Gay Street, Phoenixvil­le, PA 19460 with Memo: Larry Detwiler Memorial Award.
