Take a look at what friends and neighbors are saying about local hot topics and join in on the conversation.

I think someone ought to investigate these heating oil companies. I was over by Wawa and Sunoco and gasoline for our cars is $2.77 a gallon with all the taxes on it. I looked in The Mercury and the heating oil is $2.78 a gallon. We’re paying a penny a gallon more for heating oil for the house than we pay for gas for the car and there’s not the taxes on heating oil that there is on gas. Somebody ought to check them out.

This is to LM who said about Social Security and Medicare being cut is fake news. Well it was a fake Republican that said it, Mitch McConnell. So now that the Democrats won the House you probably won’t see Medicare and Medicaid being cut.

The tax situation in Pennsylvania can be fixed very quickly and very easy. It’s called a flat tax. It has been proposed for decades. If does not benefit the big

corporations or individuals with large accounts; it benefits everybody.

Wish some people would have some common courtesy. When you’re on Shoemaker Road at the light in front of the Comcast building, leave a gap between cars. That way people can get in and out of Comcast.

Congratulations to Scott Wagner and Lou Barletta for running the worst campaign in Pennsylvania history. Combined it was almost a half million votes.

I have a suggestion for Jay Miller. If he dislikes this country that much and he hates Trump so much next time he visits Costa Rica as he said he did maybe he ought to stay there.

I would like to thank the kind person who paid for my steak sandwiches at Giovanni’s

on Schuylkill Road recently. Thank you very much. I really appreciate it.

Congratulations to all the winners on Tuesday. I hope now we can come together and work together to continue on the road to prosperity for the sake of our children and grandchildren to know we are the greatest country and blessed to have been born here. God bless America. He holds our future.

I just wanted to thank all you people who put Gov. Wolf back in. Now we will never get rid of property tax. All he does is say he’s going to do wonders for schools and he never does, and what are our kids learning? Nothing. He just takes that extra money and does whatever with it. And all the illegal aliens just love him and everybody voted Democrat to put him back in. Well thank you people, more people will be losing

their homes.

The NFL will not allow a Super Bowl ad made by veterans that asks people to stand for the flag. So by their logic it is OK to protest against the flag but not OK to protest for it. No thanks NFL. My team is the U.S. military any day.

This is to the person who says their storm drains need to be cleaned and you’re saying this is about the sixth time you’ve been calling into Sound Off for this and nothing gets done. Well I think you’re calling the wrong place because I don’t think the borough is probably reading Sound Off. So maybe you might want to call the borough and find out from them who you get in touch with to get your storm drains cleaned. That would be a novel idea.

Mr. Hylton, everyone should give back. The

only reason the rich don’t give back as much as they should is because there are too many loopholes. They receive the same services from the borough or the state as I do but they are not doing their right by paying all of their taxes.

Heard it on Tuesday, didn’t need any ID. Went to renew my license on Wednesday, need ID. Talk about stupid Pennsylvania laws.

To those who wish to limit the number of bullets in a magazine, the magazine’s capacity, what is the average number of assailants in a home invasion? The answer is three. So how many bullets would you say you would want to limit yourself in the magazine if there are three assailants in the average home invasion?

Trump’s swamp is getting deeper and deeper.

To Worried Citizen, when

Obama was president there was no violence and crime? What do you call all the shootings in Chicago? What do you call the Antifa riots and the Black Lives Matter riots? All the people who lost private property in the riots, what do you call that?

More innocent Americans perish while Republican representatives jovially endorse checks from the NRA.
