It is the eighth year for the event, which collects packaged, non-perishable food items for those in need. Since its inception, the annual event has collected more than 7,500 pounds of food.

Items collected will be donated to Philabundance, a non-profit that provides nearly 90,000 people in the region with food each week, in an effort to end hunger across Pennsylvania and New Jersey communities.

Items that can be donated through Dec. 17 include: Canned goods, jarred proteins (peanut butter, almond butter, etc.), jelly, jams or preserves, pasta, rice and dry mixes, breakfast foods (hot or cold cereal, bars, oatmeal, etc.).
