To the person who calls Sound Off about the clogged drains, you should be calling public works at borough hall. The number is 610970-6500 and press 5 for public works.

Donald Trump said Jim Acosta was suspended because he didn’t show respect for the White House. Shows you how much I know. I never realized Kanye West was being respectful when he dropped the F bomb there.

I hear our glorious president considers the midterm elections a great victory. Well Donnie boy think twice, because it’s the beginning of the end for you. —One Who Is Rejoicing

In response about the Upper Pottsgrove polling place, I was there in the very, very long line and due to knee problems I can’t stand for any length of time. I had nothing but courtesy shown to me from the time I went in until I got back out to my vehicle. I couldn’t have asked for better service.

We’ve got to love Donald Trump. He will not back down. He is the man, he at the president we have needed for ages. He is a real president. He’s not going to back down from our enemies.

I went to my doctor’s office for a routine check up. I asked him for an inoculation against leprosy. He said “Make an appointment with a psychiatrist.” —North Coventry Yankee

Responding to the caller complaining about the inconsiderate adults at the election place in Upper Pottsgrove, I don’t know what you are speaking to, all I can say is everybody that works those polls are downright decent people. I have never seen a problem in there and I’ve been voting in this township for 40-plus years. So I don’t know what you’re complaining about but get over it.

Two Harrisburg legislators lost their jobs, Rep. Quigley and Sen. Rafferty. Personally I think it was about property taxes. They have been saying they are supporters of it but it’s not enough to be a supporter, you’ve got to get the job done. I think the ones that did survive need to realize that the clock is ticking ever so closer to the next election. You may have survived this time but if nothing happens with property taxes I’m not sure that you will next time.

Will Harbor Freight please open a store in Pottstown? The old Giant location would be excellent. I need it. I’m tired of running to Reading. Come on Harbor Freight we need you.

I was watching the news and this disastrous fire in California headed down to Malibu. I was wondering could the 15,000 troops that are going to guard the border against the slow moving invasion from Honduras be of any benefit to those people in California? It looks like U.S. citizens are really taking a beating out there and I don’t see much government help being channeled that way. Just a concerned citizen who worries about Americans in this environment.

Despite the heavy losses that Trump suffered on Tuesday, Robert Mueller is coming. Despite supporting and appointing a make-believe attorney general, Robert Mueller is coming. Welcome to the inevitable. —Lefty

Council President Dan Weand’s rules: You talk high taxes you get three minutes. You talk pizza and candy for kids at Christmas you get six minutes. —Radical

We want to thank the East Coventry Elementary School for honoring our veterans with a breakfast, and thank you to Mrs. Lewis who organizes this each year and to the teachers for their support. It is greatly appreciated. —Marine 19465

To the person who had a question about the ballots being lit up on the right side when voting that is a brilliant observation. I too have noticed that. Makes one wonder. —The Revolutionist

Donald Trump never attended the World War 1 anniversary ceremony in Paris this past weekend because of rain. Really, rain? Trump is a nationalist as he calls himself. He is not a patriot. Also Trump is calling the elections where there are recounts as voter fraud. How about the elections that the Republicans won with a close count? Are they also voter fraud?

Are you the driver who totaled our mailboxes and left the broken post, two boxes and our wet mail scattered over our front lawn on Friday on Route 113? Several years ago a clergyman also hit our mailboxes. He contacted us, apologized and paid to have new ones installed. We’re hoping you will follow his example.

Over and over Gov. Wolf is blamed for not doing something about the property tax. He does not make laws on taxes, that is why we vote for lawmakers. They decide how we are taxed, just as Congress does and not the president.
