21 crimes reported in past week

POTTSTOWN >> Twenty-one crimes were reported to Pottstown police over the past week.

According to crimemappi­ng.com, a police-run website used to inform the public about crime in their area, 21 crimes occurred in the borough since Nov. 20.

Six assaults were reported over the past week including one involving hands, feet and fists on the 500 block of North York Street and five non-aggravated assaults on Walnut Street, Wilson Street, the 600 block of East High Street, the 200 block of Penn Street and the 400 block of Upland Street.

Six incidents of vandalism were also reported. Three cases of criminal mischief to buildings occurred on the 700 block of Spruce Street, Chestnut Street and the 600 block of Spruce Street. Criminal mischief to vehicles was reported

on the 100 block of West Fifth Street, the 600 block of Lincoln Avenue and the 600 block of North Franklin Street.

Thefts were reported five times since Nov. 20. Those incidents included one theft from buildings on the 600 block of Chestnut Street as well as two retail thefts on the 200 block of Shoemaker Road and two thefts of auto parts on the 400 block of High Street and the 200 block of North Charlotte Street.

Fraud occurred twice over the last week including incidents on the 400 block of Beech Street and the 100 block of King Street.

Drug possession and harassment were each reported once. Drug possession was reported on Third Street while harassment occurred on the 500 block of North York Street.
