Chamber hosts dinner, awards
Several members recognized for their efforts
COATESVILLE >> The Western Chester County Chamber of Commerce recently hosted its annual dinner, recognizing several members for their service to the region.
Tom Tracy was presented with the chamber’s Joseph G. Filoromo Jr. Community Service Award at the Nov. 15 event held at Coatesville Country Club. The award recognizes an individual who “enlists their leadership skills with an unselfish dedication to volunteerism,” according to a press release.
Tracy has more than 50 years of experience in education, business and management.
“He has combined his professional and personal experience to serve the community and dedicates his time to several area organizations,” the release stated.
Tracy is a board member of Brandywine Hospital, a committee member for the Honey Brook Partnership and a long-standing member of St. Peter’s Knights of Columbus. He is also involved with Tel Hai Retirement Community and is a presence in many community programs.
Greg Vietri, owner of G.A. Vie-
tri Inc., was presented with the Elliott R. Jones Award, which recognizes, “a candidate who has contributed services in making WCC Chamber a viable organization,” according to the
release.
In making the presentation, board member Alissa Griffith told the crowd that Vietri is, “an excellent example of what the chamber is all about.”
Vietri joined the Western Chester County Chamber Board of Directors in 2016. He has hosted the Annual Municipal Update since 2006
and serves on the Regional Planning Committee. Vietri also serves on the chamber’s membership committee, which works to increase the chamber’s membership.
Karl Klingmann from Penn Rise Advisors was announced as the chamber’s incoming board president for 2019-2020.
“The chamber exemplifies
what this region means, in terms of — it is small, it is local and personal. We’re a tight knit community focusing on doing well for each other, as well as the community,” Klingmann said in the release.
Outgoing board president Donna McCorkle was presented with the President’s plaque for her leadership
of the chamber in 2018.

The Western Chester County Chamber of Commerce was formed in 1916 as the Coatesville Chamber of Commerce, and is the oldest chamber of commerce in Chester County. It became the Western Chester County Chamber of Commerce in 1975. It currently has 380 members and serves 23 municipal areas in the county’s western region.
