This is for Miss Sville. She wants to know why people are walking on the road or riding a bike on Route 73 near Schwenksville in the early morning hours. Did she ever stop to think these people may be going to work? They may not have jobs that afford them money to put into maintenance or buying a vehicle. They’re going to work. It’s either that or the Welfare rolls, come on give them a break. These people are doing the right thing. Give them room on the road. God bless. —Golden Ager

In case you have not heard, self-ordering touch screens at McDonalds have been found to be contaminated with all sorts of nasty bugs, including staphylococcus. The same is likely true of most commercial devices with keypads, e.g., ATMs and those “pens” employed to complete transactions with electronic signatures. Given the increasingly virulent nature of bacteria, It would behoove all to take necessary precautions. —M. Furlong

I just left Pottstown Hospital, had surgery. Dr. Kuznick was my doctor. All I can say is he’s the best. His staff in the prep area before surgery all the way up to the fourth floor just the most wonderful people you ever met. Professional, kind, courteous, listening to everything you need, answering questions. Just a super job Pottstown Hospital. And I’ve been to other hospitals and they can’t touch this place.

So General Motors is doing what it has to do to remain competitive in the face of declining consumer demand for automobiles and clueless Donnie is threatening them with sanctions. He just doesn’t get it on any front.

I’m confused on the reading of Thursday’s Sound Off. Who are the people that are supposed to feel good about giving back? Would that be the people who got stuff given to them? Because anybody else that works didn’t get anything given to them. So to give back really would be somebody who received something for free. I think it’s a little confusing on your wording there.

This is to Mary Ann Mack about your Readers’ View letter about environmental concerns. If you want to get rid of fossil fuels I’d just like to know where you’re going to get the energy from to make electricity for your smart phone because you’re going to need so much land to put solar panels up and windmills. And as far as the Obama administration policies they were nothing but a bunch of job killers.

The radical left wants a world where power is the central right of government. The people are not the source of power but are subjects of an elite political class that thinks they know better how to decide the lives and fortunes of us less able masses. That is exactly what our Founders rejected and we stood against for more than two centuries. —Info Depot

I read a couple of Sound Offs where people said “Trump boy” or “Donnie boy.” Can you imagine the outrage that would’ve been said if I would have called in when I was disagreeing with Obama and what he said and called him “Barack boy?” No, I wouldn’t have done it. Just because I disagree with somebody I do not put them down personally but you see what the Democratic side does. They put him down personally.

Are you serious? So all the liberals are complaining about Rudolph the RedNosed Reindeer now? You all are in very bad need of getting a job.

Did anybody read the article in The Mercury about the Asian carp coming into this country illegally in the Great Lakes ruining a $7 billion fishing industry? What do you think is going to happen when all the illegals coming across the southern border and ruin the job market and the health market? Think about that people. —JB, Gilbertsville

If capitalism is bad and socialism is good, why aren’t the caravans heading for Venezuela? It’s a lot closer than the United States.

I just got done talking to my friend from Pittsburgh and she made me happy. They’ve been Democrats for years. They said they are fed up, they’re tired. They went down last month and changed over to Republicans. I am so proud of them. You all have a good time and you Democrats out there that are ruining your party keep on doing it. We love it.
