Phoenixville Police respond to 45 incidents in 3 days

PHOENIXVILLE >> Phoenixville Police responded to 45 calls for service, including 12 traffic incidents, between Nov. 23 to Nov. 25.

The following is a list of notable incidents as reported by Phoenixville Police on their Facebook page:

• On Nov. 23 at 1:59 a.m., police responded to the ER at Phoenixville Hospital for the report of a 55-year-old patient who left the hospital against doctor’s orders with an IV in his arm. Several officers searched the area but they could not locate the man. An hour later, the patient’s daughter called and asked an officer to go to her father’s apartment and check on him because he left the hospital and walked home. Officer Bryan spoke to the man and he said he was fine and planned to go see his regular doctor in the morning.

• On Nov. 23 at 1:42 p.m., a resident in the 100 block of Valley View Circle reported that he hired a tow truck to remove a Jeep from his drive-way because it wouldn’t start. As the tow truck driver was hoisting the Jeep onto the wrecker, the cable snapped and the Jeep rolled backwards and crashed into the man’s good car.

• On Nov. 23 at 8:26 p.m., Officer Knapp saw a homeless man pushing a shopping cart in the 200 block of Bridge Street and noticed that the cart was decorated with Parking Authority temporary no parking signs. The man snatched the signs off of light poles downtown and wired them to his cart. The officer issued him a warning about stealing signs and then hung the signs back up where they belonged.

• On Nov. 24 at 12:48 a.m., police responded to the intersection of Main Street and Mill Street for the report of a hit & run crash involving a white Jeep. A witness reported that the driver of the Jeep lost control, jumped the curb, and almost careened down the steps into The Foundry. Officer Fusco located the Jeep a few blocks away and the driver was clearly under the influence and failed her field sobriety tests. Ashley Aumiller, 31, of Philadelphia, was arrested for DUI and she refused a BAC test. Aumiller was held in the drunk tank and released when she was sober.

• On Nov. 24 at 12:55 a.m., Cpl. Gray was driving in the 200 block of Bridge Street and a man stepped off the curb in front of his police car and ordered him to stop by holding his hand up. The officer slammed on his brakes and the man yelled, “[expletive] it’s a cop!” and then took off across the street. The 25-year-old Mont Clare man was drunk but a group of relatives appeared and promised to get him home safely. The man was issued a ticket for jaywalking.

• On NOv. 25 at 12:53 a.m., Officer Dobry was patrolling downtown and saw a man peeing on the side of the Great American Pub. The 21-year-old Schuylkill Township man was issued a summons for disorderly conduct.

• On Nov. 25 at 7:20 p.m., police responded to the intersection of Dayton Street and Emmett Street for the report of a hit & run crash. A 57-yearold Spring City woman reported that the driver of a Chevy SUV hit her car and took off. Luckily, the caller snapped a photo of the driver and the Chevy’s license plate as he pulled away and Officer Fusco was able to track the owner down in Pottstown. The driver will be charged with the hit & run.
