Clarence D. Brown, Jr., 80, of Reading

Clarence D. “Brownie” Brown, Jr., 80, of Reading, widower of Shirley L. (Gabel) Brown, passed away on Sunday November 25, 2018 at the Reading Hospital.

Born in Gibraltar, PA, he was one of 12 children of the late Marcella A. Swisher.

Clarence was employed by Gross Equipment Co., Bechtelsville, PA for over 50 years as a bus mechanic.

Both his daughters were truly blessed to have him as a father. He loved his grandchildren and great grandchildren and was happiest when he was cutting grass for his grandson, Cory.

He is survived by his daughters, Debra A, wife of Herbert H. McDonnell, Jr. of Gilbertsville and Karen J., wife of Richard S. Bruno of Exeter Township; siblings, Barbara, wife of Kenneth Mishler of Vero Beach, FL, Robert Brown of Gilbertsville, Nelson, husband of Rachel Brown of Patten, OH, Leroy, husband of Kathy Brown of Reading and George, husband of Cheryl Brown of Bechtelsville. He is also survived by four grandchildren and four great grandchildren.

Clarence is predeceased by four sisters and two brothers.

Memorial Services will be held at the Linwood W. Ott Funeral Home 111 North Reading Ave. Boyertown Monday December 3, 2018 at 7:00 p.m. Family and friends may call Monday at the funeral home from 6:00 to 7:00 p.m.
