Take a look at what friends and neighbors are saying about local hot topics and join in on the conversation.

If jail is good enough for Kathleen Kane for what she did, what about Donald Trump and his family?

If you enjoy riding roller coasters don’t waste your money going to Dorney Park. If you drive on Route 100 between Shoemaker Road and State Street going north over the railroad tracks that they replaced the other weekend, that will satisfy your thrill of riding a roller coaster and the best part, it’s free. Pottstown now has a carousel and a roller coaster.

Upper Pottsgrove commissioners, please, we need your help. Most homes in our area are decorated with Christmas lights. My neighborhood is still decorated with abandoned cars and trucks and junk. Please help us increase our property values and increase the revenue for the town by giving out citations for these properties and give them a fine. Take a ride around and see for yourself. We need your help. —NH

Why can’t the traffic light at Black Rock Road and Shearer Boulevard be adjusted for weekends and non-rush hour? Traffic on a state road is stopped for one car from a small residential area on a daily basis. Not the smartest use of a traffic light.

I see the president wouldn’t sign the G20 climate accord. Also looks like General Motors put the ax to the Chevrolet Volt. I guess they weren’t selling too hot. Apparently they’re going to make more SUVs. Well, people buy what they want to buy. It’s not a communist country.

Pennsylvania has the widest funding gap between wealthy and poor school districts in the country and our commonwealth ranks 46th in the nation on the state share for public education.

I have a suggestion for the Hollywood elite. Clean up your own state’s streets before you bring more people in. Look at all the tent cities in our country and how about prison reform for our unjustly imprisoned citizens? Take care of our own hungry and homeless. What a disgrace and how out of touch they are. Oh and don’t they secure their homes and neighborhoods? Hypocrites. —Lady Di

To all the callers with their comments about General Motors, you must realize something here. General Motors is no longer an American company. GM was bought by Fiat. GM still owes the taxpayers $11.2 billion which Obama said they don’t have to pay back; the taxpayers are a bunch of chumps they’ll understand. Well that’s the status on General Motors. We’re never going to see our money and it’s no longer an American company. So thank you Mr. Obama.

I was sitting there Tuesday morning reading The Mercury which I always enjoy doing with a cup of coffee looking at the Cartoonist’s take that George and Barbara Bush are reunited in heaven. But where are her pearls? I’m sure she has them on.

I find it totally unacceptable that when you have a doctor’s appointment and you’re possibly five minutes late there’s a chance you would have to reschedule but yet you can sit in their waiting room for 45 minutes to an hour before you’re even taken back to a room. Why do they schedule people so closely? —Frustrated Patient

We would like to say how grateful we are for all the road work that has been done at the intersection of routes 100 and 23. After living in this area for over 50 years we sure do appreciate the muchneeded improvements.

This is to the people who are complaining that there should be no political things in for the month of December. Be thankful you live in the land of the free and the home of the brave. —Jay Miller

This is to In Agreement who stated for the month of December they should eliminate political views from Sound Off or stop Sound Off for a month. People who love Sound Off do not want it to stop for a month because it’s a good way to sound off without getting in trouble. We have the good, the bad and the ugly in Sound Off. If you really don’t like it just don’t read that page. We want to have Sound Off to state our opinions and have them read. —Phoenix Mom

To the person who thinks that a dozen or so callers hate Trump, it’s not about hate. It’s a matter of holding a racist bigot who has lied to the American people hundreds of times and who has no respect for women accountable for his outrageous behavior. Got it? —One Who Does Get It

Glick’s Greenhouse had the most beautiful poinsettia show and a young girl playing the piano, all kinds of wreaths from different Boyertown stores. It was absolutely wonderful. Thank you again Glick’s. —Janice Hull
