OJR girls swimming completes 10-0 run to PAC championsh­ip

The Owen J. Roberts girls swimming team completed its perfect run toward a Pioneer Athletic Conference championsh­ip Thursday by outswimmin­g Pottsgrove, 92-70.

Roberts completed its 10-0 season in team fashion, with a number of swimmers contributi­ng winning finishes. Mikayla Niness got things going with her first in the 200 free (1:59.05), followed by individual wins from Ella Greenholt (200 IM, 2:25.59), Lauren Zelinske (50 free, 25.86), Brianna Kerley (diving, 183.30 points), Lilia Crew (100 fly, 1:03.37), Abbey Malmstrom (100 free, 56.87) and Kaily Zakarevicz (500 free, 5:37.27).

Roberts also won the 200 medley relay, Crew and Malmstrom joining Meredith Mutter and Kendall Obara for a 1:59.01 clocking.

Olivia Plotts and Jaelyn Kennedy won individual events for Pottsgrove: Plotts the 100 back and Kennedy the 100 breast.

Boys swimming

OWEN J. ROBERTS 77, POTTSGROVE 46 >> Nathan VanNatter and Jonah Kasznay combined to figure in on four wins by the Wildcats in their PAC meet with the Falcons.

Van Natter took the 200 IM (2;10.29) and Kasznay the 50 free (22.77). They also swam legs of Roberts’ winning 200 medley relay, joining Dalton Fink and Zach Bowker for a 1:45.79 finish; and the 400 free relay (3:33.62), collaborat­ing with Will Cano and Fink on the first-place showing.

Boys basketball

PERKIOMEN SCHOOL 74, GERMANTOWN ACADEMY 56 >> A dominant start helped the Panthers handle Germantown Academy in non-league play.

Perkiomen School held the Patriots to just two points in the first quarter as Princeton commit Keeshawn Kellman provided rim protection and scored 20 points.

Chris Arcidiacon­o added 19 points, while Niels Lane chipped in 15 points as well. Perkiomen School heads to Kean University to take on St. Thomas More Saturday.

Girls basketball

PERKIOMEN SCHOOL 30, COLLEGIUM CHARTER 22 >> The Panthers picked up a victory in the Tri-County League semifinals. Tera Heintz had 12 points and Chardae Stone had nine for Perkiomen.

Wrestling

POTTSGROVE 51, BRANDYWINE HEIGHTS 27 >> The Falcons marked their Senior Night festivitie­s by handling the Bullets in their non-league match.

After getting a fast 36 points on Brandywine’s forfeit of the first six weights, Pottsgrove got a pin from Charles Sithens at 126 and Josh Cerrito’s decision at 132. Pottsgrove upped its record to 14-6 in its home finale.
