Substance violations, theft, lead crime in past week

POTTSTOWN >> Substance violations and theft were the leading crimes in the borough in the past week.

According to crimemapping.com, a policerun website used to inform the public about crime in their area, theft and drug possession were each reported five times since Feb. 6. Drug possessions were reported on the 400 block of East High Street, North Charlotte Street, Berks Street, the 500 block of Spruce Street and an additional incident on East High Street. Two retail thefts were reported on the 200 block of Shoemaker Road along with three thefts from buildings on Moser Road, the 200 block of North Warren Street and West High Street.

Four cases of disturbing the peace were also reported in the past week. Two cases of disorderly conduct were reported on North Franklin Street and the 1500 block of Sunset Drive along with two cases of harassment on the 300 block of King Street and the 200 block of North Keim Street.

Burglary and vandalism were each reported three times over the past week. Burglaries were reported on the 600 block of North Hanover Street, West Eighth Street and West Seventh Street. Criminal mischief to vehicles was reported on 600 block of Chestnut Street and the 800 block of South Street. One case of criminal mischief to buildings was reported on the 300 block of North Charlotte Street.

Assault and vehicle break-ins were each reported twice over the past week. An assault involving hands, feet and fists was reported on the 100 block of North Adams Street along with a non-aggravated assault on the 100 block of King Street. Vehicle break-ins were reported on the 500 block of Clearview Street and the 100 block of East Third Street.

Weapons offenses, fraud and vehicle theft were each reported once since Feb. 6. Vehicle theft was reported on the 300 block of Glasgow Street along with a weapons offense on the 300 block of King Street. Fraud was reported on the 1000 block of North Charlotte Street.
