In a low-scoring game Thursday, Daniel Boone’s American Legion baseball team had enough to come out on top over Norchester.

The Mavriks did all their scoring in their first two atbats ... an amount sufficient to prevail over the Bulldogs, 3-2, in their Berks County League pairing. Norchester finally got on the board in the sixth, but John Dinnocenti shut down the ‘Dogs from there.

Matt Stevens, Chase Lacey and Tim Richard (2-for-3) drove in the Boone runs. Stevens doubled for the game’s lone extra-base hit.

Dinnocenti’s completegame pitching stint saw him scatter two hits and three walks while striking out four. On the other side, Jordan Siket was touched for six hits and five walks.

Norchester’s hits came from Jake Iyoob (one RBI) and Jon Hannevig. Sam Morris had Norchester’s other RBI. DOYLESTOWN 12, POTTSTOWN 7 >> The Steelers got within reach of Doylestown Thursday, only to see their Bux-Mont League guests pull away for victory.

After spotting Doylestown seven runs in its first at-bat, Pottstown closed the gap to 7-6 with help from five second-inning runs. But Doylestown answered with three in the top of the third before scoring another pair in the sixth.

The Steelers, who got their final run in the bottom of the seventh, got their RBI from Cole Miller (3-for-5), Jake Eagle (2-for-4, double) and Max Dopwell. Dalton Mullen (three strikeouts) threw the first four innings for Pottstown, with Kevin Zvodar finishing up.
