Seven innings weren’t enough to decide a Twin County League champion.

Boyertown and Norchester needed two extra frames and a handful of dramatics to figure out who would come away with the league crown.

Eric Keebler’s two-out hit in the bottom of the ninth gave the Grizzlies a 3-2 victory over Norchester on Monday, leaving Boyertown standing with the honor.

In most games, Norchester starter Cameron Brashear’s seveninning effort would be enough. Brashear allowed one run on five hits in his seven innings of work. He struck out four batters and allowed just one walk.

However, his opposition was just as good. Eric Keebler got the start for Boyertown, allowing one run on no hits and three walks in three innings. He left the game with score tied, 1-1.

Ethan Ferraro entered the game in the top of the fourth and held Norchester scoreless with only two hits over the next five innings.

Norchester scored its second run in the top of the ninth when Christian Grillo’s hard groundball hit off first base and into right field to score Alex Lobello from second base.

Grizzlies’ cleanup hitter Nathaniel Wilson walked in the bottom of the inning and was sacrificed to second to put the tying run in scoring position. Zach Rothermel and Cullen Nesbitt followed with singles to score Wilson and tie the game, 2-2, with one out.

Keebler, who finished the game 3-for-4 with two RBI at the plate, came up with the game-winning hit with two outs. Ferraro notched the win for Boyertown, allowing one run on three hits in six innigns of relief. The Grizzlies are now headed to the the Berwick Regional.
