What do you love about summer?
Residents from Wellington at Hershey’s Mill were asked what they love about Summer!
Lolly Bates: Some of Lolly’s favorite things about summer are the sun, beach, and just having fun! Lolly remembers catching crabs in the marsh with her siblings and grandfather and thoroughly enjoyed the time she spent in the summer playing games and telling ghost stories. Another thing she loves about summer is dancing in the rain!
Lolly is celebrating her 95th birthday this month! She plans on celebrating with family and friends here at Wellington and Lolly is giving everyone a gift on her birthday. Giving is something Lolly has been doing her entire life and she isn’t’ stopping now. Happy 95th Birthday to Lolly!
Marianne Bechhold: Marianne is an avid beach goer, she spends most weekends throughout the summer at her daughter’s house in Ocean City, NJ. She loves the time she gets with her children, grandchildren and watching all the activity on the bay. Marianne and Bob are thrilled to be expecting 3 great-grandchildren very soon! The longer summer days and warm weather remind her of Florida, where she and Bob lived for 35 years, but originally are from New Jersey.
Josie Goodman: Josie enjoys
the long summer days, her garden, and all the colors of summer! She likes summer cuisine, enjoying the outdoors and the warm summer breeze. Josie loves staying active and meeting new people is one of her favorite things to do. She has visited many places all over the world and has
made friends everywhere she goes. Josie often hosts friends at home, whether they are visiting as tourists or on business, and she speaks 4 languages!
Will Heeb: Will and his wife, Gail, love boating. Specifically, sailing in the summer. They have sailed in the Pacific Northwest, Sweden, Germany, Asia, and Hong Kong! Of course, along with sailing went swimming which they have thoroughly enjoyed as well. Now Will and Gail enjoy watching the Sunrise and Sunset. If they wake up at 5am they’ll watch the sunrise with a cup of coffee and will most likely enjoy an afternoon nap! They enjoy spending time with family in North Carolina and often when their grandchildren come for a visit they’ll enjoy playing chess while sitting outside enjoying the summer weather.
