Games, equipment available for rent

-

POTTSTOWN >> Through the generosity of the Gimbel Charitable Trust, Hobart’s Run has purchased games and other equipment that nonprofit organizations located in Pottstown may borrow.

The goal is to provide fun, healthy kid-geared activities, that strengthen community connections, and help youths stay on a positive path rather than out “on the streets.”

The Ellis A. Gimbel Charitable Trust, an organization that strives to provide entertaining and inspiring experiences to children in largely underserved communities, awarded the $3,500 “Pop-Up Fun Nights” grant allowing Hobart’s Run to obtain the equipment. The fun-andgames offerings purchased to date include a croquet set, basketballs and soccer balls, Slammo, ladder toss, bubble soccer balls, and a bean bag toss set. Hobart’s Run also will loan out a portable sound system.

To sign out the “Pop-Up Fun Nights” equipment, representatives of nonprofits and other community-focused organizations operating within the Borough of Pottstown should email hobartsrun.pottstown@ gmail.com with the name of the organization and the requested dates of use.

Equipment may be borrowed for no more than a 48-hour period. Hobart’s Run requests that organizations arrange pick-up and drop-off times in advance. The individual who picks up the equipment will be asked to sign a liability waiver and present an insurance certificate (if a nonprofit).

Additionally, Hobart’s Run asks that groups take, tag, and share #HobartsPopUpFun photos of the equipment in use to help thank the donors and show the smiles they have brought to children and youths in Pottstown.
