Pottstown — Trinity UCC, 60 N. Hanover St., has placed a “Community Prayer Wall” on its front lawn. All are invited to stop by, write your prayer(s) on the paper provided in the box, place the paper in a plastic bag, and attach it to the wall. Every Saturday, we will empty the wall and read your prayers during our 9:30 AM worship service on Sunday morning. Our congregati­on is looking forward to praying for you. St. John’s Evangelica­l Lutheran

Boyertown — St. John’s Evangelica­l Lutheran Church, 45 N. Reading Ave., Boyertown. Sunday 8:00 am worship will be held in the Lower Level. Our children’s musical, “In the Big Inning,” will be performed in place of the 9:30 am worship service and will be held in the Sanctuary. Pottstown — Rev. Austin Chinault returns to the pulpit Sunday at the 10:15 amworship service at Zion’s United Church of Christ, Hanover and Chestnut Streets. Hewill also lead the 9:00 am Adult Sunday School Class. The congregati­on will be supporting Helping Hands that reunites unaccompan­ied youth from Central America with family that already resides in the USA. Bethany Children’s Home, Womelsdorf provides them with a safe place to live and grow until they are reunited with their families. Members will purchase items on a wish list for boys and girls 5-14 years to be delivered to Bethany. Handbells will return to practice at 6:30 pm Wednesday August 21. The choir will also return at 7:30 pm. Both are under the direction of Minister of Music Keith Clattenbur­g. Zion’s volunteers will prepare and serve the communitym­eal at Emmanuel Lutheran Friday, Aug. 23 at noon.

Limerick — Members of St. James Lutheran Church, 93 Kugler Road, Limerick, delivered 461 backpacks to 18 local schools throughout the week. This activity was part of “Operation Smart Start” which was sponsored by families of the church.
