Sarah Park has been solid in goal for the Lafayette field hockey team again this season, but the senior has been outstanding in the last two games for the 3-4 Leopards.

Park, from Collegeville and a Methacton High graduate, led the team to a 2-1 overtime victory over Richmond on Sept. 15 in Easton and help post an 8-0 triumph in the team’s Patriot League opener over Holy Cross last Saturday, also in Easton.

The senior has given up 13 goals (1.72 goals against average) and has 39 saves (.750 save percentage). Two of her losses came against nationally ranked teams, 3-2 in two overtimes against Syracuse and 5-0 against Liberty.

“Sarah’s development during her time on campus has been significant as she’s grown into a veteran part of our defensive unit,” coach Jennifer Stone said. “Her teammates feel comfortable with her in goal which is critical for that position. She is agile, smart and proving to be a top-tier goalie this fall.”
