Sly Fox Can Jam Music Festival returns
POTTSTOWN >> Players came ready Saturday as they competed to be crowned the Kan Jam tournament champion.
Every year, hundreds show up to Sly Fox Brewing in Pottstown to enjoy the Sly Fox Can Jam Music Festival. Teams register for tournament for a chance to win their weight in Sly Fox beer while playing a game of Kan Jam with a beer in hand.
While teams signed up and competed in the Kan Jam tournament, others could set up a chair, watch the tournament or listen to an assortment of live music throughout the day.
Guests could also partake in a variety of food options set up around the brewery or take a seat at the brewery to enjoy food and beers.

POTTSTOWN >> The Pottstown Cluster of Religious Communities held its 8th annual You Gotta Have Heart Caring Community Recognition and Fundraising event on Sept. 26 at The SunnyBrook Ballroom.
“The 2019 Caring Community Awards presented at You Gotta Have Heart honored and recognized four individuals who have made significant contributions towards improving Food Security, Housing Stability, and Supportive Services and Education within and beyond the Greater Pottstown area,” said Barbara Wilhelmy, executive director of the Pottstown Cluster of Religious Communities.
The 2019 Cluster Community Awards were presented to Valerie Arkoosh, chairwoman of the Montgomery County Board of Commissioners, and Kenneth Lawrence Jr., vice chairman of the Montgomery County Board of Commissioners.

Additionally, the Helping Hands with Heart Awards were presented to Barbara Cooper, Cluster Community Meals volunteer; and Myra Forrest, volunteer and supporter, past Cluster board member, Community Meals, past fall fundraising event chairperson and member.
The awards were presented by State Rep. Joe Ciresi, who also serve as the event emcee.
Special guest speakers included Pottstown Mayor Stephanie A. Hendrick and State Rep. Tim Hennessey.
The event theme, “Celebrate Service with Heart,” was a call to action that brought together about 200 community stakeholders from the Greater Pottstown area and will directly impact 450 local families per month in need of Food Security, Housing Stability, Supportive Services and Education.
Event guests enjoyed a social hour, buffet dinner, awards, raffle items, inspirational stories, and a video premiere.
