Events for Veterans Small Business Week
SBA’s Eastern Pennsylvania District plans several events Nov. 4-8
Events celebrate and connect service members, veterans, military spouse entrepreneurs and business owners.
National Veterans Small Business Week will run from Nov. 4 through Nov. 8. To support the initiative, the U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA) Eastern Pennsylvania District has planned a number of events to celebrate, connect, and empower service members (including National Guard and Reserve), veterans, and military spouse entrepreneurs and business owners.
During the week, the SBA’s district offices and resource partners across the U.S. will host veteran small business owners nationwide with Boots to Business and Boots to Business: Reboot events, webinars and workshops focused on access to capital, federal procurement and entrepreneurial development.
“Each year, SBA assists thousands of veterans, reservists, and National Guard to start and grow their small businesses,” Steven Dixel, director, SBA Eastern Pennsylvania District, said in a press release. “Nearly one in every 10 American businesses today is owned by a veteran and veteran-owned businesses employ nearly six million workers, so it’s not just the right thing to do, it’s important for the economy.”

• Nov. 5, 11 a.m.-12:30 p.m.: Government Contracting Opportunities for Veterans: Lunch and Learn, held at WeWork, 1601 Market St., 18th Floor (Boardroom), Philadelphia.
• Nov. 6, 2:30 p.m.-4:30 p.m.: U.S. Military Veterans Employment & Education Fair, CareerLink of Lehigh Valley, 555 Union Blvd., Allentown.
• Nov. 7, 10 a.m.-2 p.m.: State Sen. Katie Muth, D44thDist., Veterans Expo, Greater Philadelphia Expo
