COLLEGEVILLE » Recent Communications Inc., a Collegevillebased telecommunications company, has brought back its Holiday Hotline — and enhanced it for 2019. Callers to the hotline this year can have a little fun with the holidays — and make a difference.

Through Dec. 31, individuals can call into Recent Communications’ Holiday Hotline for Hearts by dialing 484-552-2180 — and can leave a voice message for four holiday characters: Frosty the Snowman, Buddy the Elf, Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer and Santa Claus.

For each voice message left, Recent Communications will make a $5 donation to Simon’s Heart — a local nonprofit that is focused on protecting hearts and saving lives. Simon’s Heart works to raise awareness about conditions that lead to sudden cardiac arrest and death.

Last year was the first time Recent Communications had the Holiday Hotline, according to Charlotte Conroy, managing partner, director of marketing and business development for Recent Communications. It was a “fun way” to showcase the company’s range of telecom products and services.

This year, she said, the company wanted to keep it fun, but

“Last year, we had many children call into our holiday hotline, with the help of their parents and guardians of course. The holiday season is a wonderful time to teach children about the spirit of giving and with that, we felt partnering with Simon’s Heart, a child-focused organization, was a perfect fit.”
