Democrats have brought back MaCathyism

Most of us are too young to remember, but Joseph McCarthy led hearings and persecuted innocent Americans on the charge of being communist in the 1950s. This became known as McCarthyism, and it is universally considered to be a stain on our political system and our country. Today, Democrats are engaging in very similar reprehensible activities, and this behavior deserves the same universal condemnation.

Secret hearings, anonymous witnesses, selective leaks, and the suppression of evidence are now the preferred tools of the Democrats’ impeachment effort. Hearsay and opinion have replaced facts and evidence. The claim is that President Trump used aid to coerce the Ukrainian President to investigate Joe Biden and his son. The transcript of the call shows this is clearly not the case. The President’s request was legal and quite common. Aid was provided to Ukraine with no conditions.

Many Democrats called for impeachment even before Trump took office. Protesters burned cars and threw rocks at police during his inauguration. Democrat Rep. Al Green advocates impeaching President Trump multiple additional times if this attempt fails. He’s afraid that President Trump will be re-elected in 2020.

History will regard the Democrat’s impeachment efforts, as well as their Russian Collusion Hoax, with the same contempt that we now associate with McCarthyism. Secret, rigged hearings with anonymous hearsay witnesses and investigations based on fraudulent information and political sabotage are practices utilized by the old Soviet Union; they have no place in the United States.
