Bessie M. (Brile) Moser, of Gilbertsville, PA

Bessie M. (Brile) Moser, 96, of Gilbertsville, wife of the late Henry S. Moser, passed away on Wednesday, Dec. 25 at Frederick Living.

Born in Pottstown, she was the daughter of the late Henry E. and Elizabeth (Weller) Brile.

Bessie was a member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Lobachsville. She was a graduate of Pottstown High School where she was selected Female Athlete of the Year for the class of 1941. Bessie played softball for the Pottstown Cardinalettes and enjoyed bowling.

She was a US Army veteran and worked for Stanley G. Flagg & Company until her retirement in 1985. She enjoyed traveling and spending summers at White House Beach in Delaware

Surviving is stepson George M. Moser, husband of Mary; step son-in-law Henry Neiman;

five grandchildren; seven great grandchildren; a sister-in law Janet Brower; and many nieces and nephews. Along with her parents and husband, she is predeceased by her brothers Henry, Franklin, George, Kenneth, and Robert Brile; sister Esther Mutter; stepdaughter Jeanette Neiman; and great granddaughter Kate Elizabeth Moser.

A funeral service will be Friday, Jan. 3, 11:00AM at Catagnus Funeral Home & Cremation Center, Inc., 1020 E. Phila. Ave., Gilbertsville. Burial will follow in Niantic-Union Cemetery. Visitation will be Friday from 10:00AM to 10:45AM at the funeral home.
