Commerce Dept. video wins national award
Video highlight’s Montco economic development efforts
A promotional video highlighting the Montgomery County Commerce Department’s enhanced economic development initiative and campaign — MontcoForward — has been awarded a Gold Zedman Award for local/ community video.
The Zedman Awards honor “exemplary creative and imaginative content” in production, direction, cinematography, graphics, writing and editing, according to a press release. The video awards recognize online, broadcast and direct presentation video.
The MontcoForward promotional video highlights what makes Montgomery County “the place to live, work, learn, and invest,” and was filmed by FreshFly as part of a collaboration between the Montgomery County Commerce Department and the Valley Forge Tourism & Convention
Board (VFTCB). The video was unveiled as part of the MontcoForward initiative in May, 2019.
“The shared vision, creativity and passion that everyone who was part of this project brought to the table shows how committed our leaders, and business community, are to seeing Montgomery County continue to prosper, and rise up to compete at a whole new level,” David Zellers Jr., director,
Montgomery County Commerce Department, said in the release. “This collaboration between the Commerce Department and the VFTCB is primed to be one of the cornerstones in making Montgomery
County, Pa. THE place to live, work, learn and invest. I’m very grateful to our County Commissioners and VFTCB’s board of directors for supporting this
growing, unstoppable partnership.”
The video is hosted on the MontcoForward website, and is used in presentations with stakeholders, including helping to promote the upcoming fall 2020 Pennsylvania Economic Development Association Conference. The video is also posted on the Valley Forge Tourism & Convention Board website, and had has been shared by the organization’s sales and marketing teams at trade shows and events. The video is also available for chambers of commerce, municipalities and partner organizations to use as part of economic development efforts in promoting Montgomery County.
“The Valley Forge Tourism & Convention Board was proud to partner with the Montgomery County Commerce Department on the MontcoForward initiative,” Mike Bowman, president & CEO of the Valley Forge Tourism & Convention Board, said in the release. “This was the first time ever for something of this magnitude. The campaign aligns with our organization in terms of economic growth and balancing that with great tourism assets, and quality of life.” MontcoForward was created to meet the need for a modern and all-inclusive approach to economic development which champions the importance of partnerships and collaboration along with stakeholder engagement. “It is a single point of entry approach for individuals, entrepreneurs, investors, businesses, communities, and institutions that are seeking economic and workforce development information and services,” the release stated. The web-based enhancement for those seeking to start a business, grow a business, or find new opportunities gives users valuable data about Montgomery County’s business climate, industry trends, customer demographics, competition, and transportation which are valuable tools in business development decision making.
