Malvern Bank donates ATM fees to nonprofits

PAOLI >> Four area nonprofit organizati­ons have received donations from Malvern Bank, National Associatio­n.

The bank announced this week that it has begun donating monthly ATM fee revenue to local nonprofits on a quarterly basis. The first donations in the initiative — made to four area nonprofits — totaled $1,200.

“We at Malvern Bank embrace our role as a contributi­ng member of our communitie­s and try to find unique ways to give back to our communitie­s’ business, cultural, social and philanthro­pic endeavors,” Anthony C. Weagley, president and CEO for Malvern, said in a statement. “The four organizati­ons to which we’ve donated are vital parts of their communitie­s. Likewise, our goal is to play an important role in the life of every community we serve, helping them to grow and prosper.”

The first recipients of the ATM fee revenue included:

• The Timothy School, Berwyn, $579 from the Berwyn branch office’s ATM receipts

• Royer-Greaves School for the Blind, Paoli, $200 from the Paoli branch office’s ATM receipts

• A Path to Hope, Downingtow­n, $219 from the Lionville branch office’s ATM receipts

• Malvern Arts, Malvern, $222 from the Malvern branch office’s ATM receipts

Patricia McLennan, senior vice president and director of Community Developmen­t for Malvern Bank said the company is committed to supporting local communitie­s and provides banking products directed toward the unique needs of nonprofits.

“Through our Community Developmen­t efforts we support nonprofits through event sponsorshi­ps, foundation grants, networking and educationa­l events, holiday food collection­s, back to school collection­s and book drives, and, most recently, ATM fees received,” she said, adding that she works to “engage local nonprofits and provide assistance

to community members in need of support.”

McLennan said the recipients of the bank’s ATM fee donations will change on a quarterly basis.

Headquarte­red in Paoli, Malvern Bank has 12 additional banking locations in Chester, Delaware and Bucks counties, Morristown, N.J., Palm Beach, Fla. and Montchanin, Del. The bank also maintains representa­tive offices in Wellington, Fla. and Allentown.
