Boyertown girls secure wild card for PAC Final Six

BOYERTOWN 55, NORRISTOWN 34 >> The Bears clinched a PAC Final Six place and enabled head coach Jason Bieber to reach a personal milestone while handling the Eagles in Thursday’s PAC Liberty Division contest.

Leading wire-to-wire, Boyertown got Bieber the 200th victory for his 11 years leading the program. Julia Smith hit for a game-high 18 points and Ashley Kapp another 12.

Boyertown (10-12) improved to 9-7 in the PAC to claim the second wild card for next week’s league playoffs. SPRING-FORD 51, PERKIOMEN VALLEY 30 >> Lucy Olsen collected a game-high 20 points to key the Rams in Thursday’s PAC Liberty Division win over the Vikings.

Gabs Alessandro­ni gave SpringFord (9-1, 15-1, 19-2) another 10 points for the Rams. Jennifer Beattie and Lindsay Hartman each scored nine points for PV (3-7, 8-8, 8-13).

POPE JOHN PAUL II 44, UPPER MERION 17 >> Amelia Kennedy collected a doubledoub­le to lead the Golden Panthers (7-2 Frontier, 8-6 PAC, 10-10 overall) in Thursday’s PAC Frontier Division victory over the Vikings.

Kennedy hit for 15 points and cleared 10 rebounds. Mary Kate Shannon was the game’s scoring leader with 17 points, and Tess Crossan cleared 12 rebounds while making six steals as the PJP defense limited UM (5-16) to a pair of first-quarter points and shut the home team out in the fourth.

MUHLENBERG 62, DANIEL BOONE 27 >> Miranda Olmeda set the Muhlenberg school record for 3-pointers in a season with her third 3-pointer Thursday night against the Blazers.

Olmeda finished with five 3s good for 15 points; she now has 55 for the season with three games remaining. Olmeda led all scorers and Genesis Martinez had 10 for the Muhls. Allyson Boyer led the Blazers with 12 points.,

HUN SCHOOL 90, PERKIOMEN SCHOOL 44 >> Chardae Stone and Akalsha Santos did the bulk of the Panthers’ scoring in Thursday’s non-league loss to Hun School.

Stone was the team’s scoring leader with 22 points, and Santos added 12.

Boys basketball

METHACTON 70, OWEN J. ROBERTS 17 >> Jeff Woodward reached a personal milestone Thursday while helping the Warriors roll over the Wildcats in Pioneer Athletic Conference Liberty Division action.

Woodward surpassed the 1,000-rebound mark in the first half, complement­ing his 10-point game. Erik Timko was the game’s runaway scoring star with 30 points (his fourth straight game with 20-or-more) as Methacton completed a 10-0 run through the division, a 16-0 mark in the league and 20-1 record for the season.

POTTSTOWN 61, UPPER PERKIOMEN 52 >> Donovan Towson was hot from long distance in leading the Trojans to a PAC Frontier Division victory over the Indians.

Towson got half his game-high 24 points off shots from 3-point range, with Robert Burress adding another 10. Upper Perk got 21 points from Sean Boyle and 14 from Hunter Flack. SPRING-FORD 74, PERKIOMEN VALLEY 59>> Patrick Kovaleski and Tre Medearis headed a quartet of doublefigu­re scorers that fueled the Rams’ potent offensive in Thursday’s PAC Liberty Division win over the Vikings.

Kovaleski’s 21-point outing was one more than Medearis’ 20, with Zack Skrocki and Tyler Scilingo adding a respective 18 and 11. PV’s Tyler Lapetine narrowly claimed game scoring honors with 22 points, Kameron Parks and Aidan Gansz eaach kicking in 12.

PHOENIXVIL­LE 63, POTTSGROVE 36 >> Steven Hamilton scored a game-high 15 points to help the Phantoms roll over the Falcons in Thursday’s PAC Frontier Division game.

Mike Memmo contribute­d another 10 points to the Phoenixvil­le offense. Pottsgrove was led by 10s from Manny Allen and Nick Stringer.

Steven Hamilton 15, Mike Memmo 10. Manny Allen and Nick Stringer 10. GOV. MIFFLIN 66, DANIEL BOONE 42 >> Bryce Harman scored 14, Evan Lehman 13 and Justin Spotts 10 for the Mustangs in Thursday’s Berks Conference win over the Blazers.

Larnell Towson had 16 to lead Boone.

Boys swimming

METHACTON 95, PERKIOMEN VALLEY 90 >> The double-win outings of Dylan Alexander and Jacob Replogle weren’t enough to lift the Vikings over the Warriors in Thursday’s PAC meet.

Alexander took the 200 free (1:49.73) and 500 free (5:02.17) while Replogle headed the 200 IM (2:01.44) and 100 back (54.95). Methacton got individual firsts from Tommy Gibbs in the 100 free (50.29) and Dylan Pham in the 100 breast (1:07.47) to go along with firsts in the 200 medley (1:45.23) and 200 free relays (1:31.21).

DANIEL BOONE 84, SCHUYLKILL VALLEY 75>> Jacob Santos won two individual events to key the Blazers in Thursday’s Berks Conference meet with the Panthers.

Santos took the 50 free (23.67) and 100 back (57.79).

Girls swimming

PERKIOMEN VALLEY 99, METHACTON 84 >> Olivia Palubinski figured on three wins for the Vikings in Thursday’s PAC meet with the Warriors.

Palubinski took the 100 free (1:00.22) while swimming legs of PV’s first-place 200 medley (2:00.62) and 400 free relay (4:06.42). Alex Ferrance scored a pair of firsts for Methacton in the 200 free (2:06.65) and 100 fly (1:03.51).

SCHUYLKILL VALLEY 123, DANIEL BOONE 56 >> Erin Gouldie had the Blazers’ lone winning performanc­e in Thursday’s Berks Conference meet with the Panthers.

Gouldie took the 100 fly in 1:04.15.
