SpringFord wins district duals title

Boys basketball

SPRING-FORD 72, BOYERTOWN 53 >> The sharpshoot­ing of Michael Fitzgerald and Tyler Scilingo guided the Rams to a PAC Liberty win over the Bears on Saturday.

Fitzgerald led Spring-Ford with 16 points, including three 3-point makes. Scilingo scored 12, nine of which came off 3-point shots. Patrick Kovaleski added 15 and Tre Medaris 10 for the Rams.

Tree Diguglielm­o and Mason Marinello (four 3s) both scored 12 for Boyertown.

HILL SCHOOL 60, ST MARIA GORETTI 44 >> The Blues bounced back from their first loss in eight outings Saturday, getting a gamehigh 15 points and 13 rebounds from Toni Buchmann to earn the road win.

Hill jumped to an early 17-3 lead and never trailed. The Blues got balanced scoring, including a big lift from Michael Eze, who scored nine points — including a monster alley-oop jam. Zach Lezanic added 11 points and 10 assists, Caleb Dorsey had 10 and Gabe Dorsey chipped in with nine.

UPPER MERION 64, POTTSTOWN 47 >> Ty Jones headed a trio of double figure scorers as the Vikings bested the Trojans in a PAC Frontier contest Friday.

Jones had 12 with Collin Bowman (11) and Nick Shepperd (10) joining him in double figures. Donovan Towson scored 13, and Tre’ Bass scored 11 to lead Pottstown.

WILSON 58, METHACTON 56 >> An 11-9 fourth quarter proved enough to lift the Bulldogs over the Warriors in their non-league Saturday.

Erik Timko led Methacton with 21 points and Jeff Woodward added 16. WEST NOTTINGHAM 82, HILL SCHOOL 78 (OT) >> The Blues (14-6) saw their seven-game win streak snapped with an overtime defeat in Friday’s non-league contest. Gabe Dorsey led Hill with 18 points and Gabe Moss followed with 14. Toni Buchmann and Caleb Dorsey both chipped in with 11. Daniel Nixon had nine. Buchmann’s 11 first-half points got the Blues out to a 41-33 lead. The Blues trailed 72-66 with three minutes left in regulation before scoring six straight points to send the game to overtime.

Girls basketball

UPPER MERION 64, POTTSTOWN 62 (OT) >> Despite a 22-point outing from Trinell Watson, the Trojans fell to UM in overtime Friday in a PAC Frontier contest. Isabella LeGendre scored 13, Hannah Foster scored 12, Katie Frey had 11 and Riley Anderson 8 for Upper Merion. Tamya Jarrett 12, Ka’Wanza Hodges 11 and Calista Daye 9 were Pottstown’s other scoring leaders.

HILL SCHOOL 57, PENNINGTON 27 >> The Blues connected on six three-pointers in the first half on their way to a non-league victory over Pennington School Friday.

Cynthia Williams scored 11 first-half points and Aine Farrell followed with nine -all off three three-pointers - as the Blues raced out to a 32-10 halftime advantage.

Williams finished with 18 points to lead the Blues. Farrell and senior Eve Nealon

added 13 points apiece; both drained a trio of threepoint­ers.

CENTRAL BUCKS SOUTH 46, PERKIOMEN VALLEY 29 >>

The Vikings were held to just four points in the second quarter as they fell behind 21-12 at halftime and never quite recovered in Saturday’s non-league loss.

Jennifer Beattie scored 10, and Emma Miley added eight for PV.

COLLEGIUM CHARTER 82, POTTSTOWN 44 >> The Cougars rolled the Trojans in Saturday’s non-league game.

Leading all scorers was Collegium’s Cheyenne Rivas with 32 points, Trinell Watson and Tanya Jarrett were Pottstown’s leading scorers with 18 and 11 points, respective­ly.
