Motorcyclist charged after Route 422 high-speed chase

A Rockland Township man on a motorcycle led Exeter Township police on a high-speed chase on Route 422 that ended when he drove past a “Road Closed” sign and came to a dead-end.

Jyles R. Sadowski, 29, of the 100 block of Schweitz Road was charged with fleeing or attempting to elude police, driving under a suspended license and numerous traffic violations after the incident about 10 a.m. Friday.

He was free on $5,000 bail following arraignment before Senior District Judge Nicholas M. Bentz Jr. in Reading Central Court. Police provided this account: Officer Daniel Fox was parked along westbound Perkiomen Avenue, which is Route 422, at Stone

town Road when he clocked a westbound motorcycle traveling at more than 83 mph in a 45 mph zone.

He pulled out and caught up to the motorcycle near Lincoln Drive. Fox turned on his emergency lights and siren, but the motorcycle

didn’t stop, running a red light at Lorane Road.

Fox alerted other police that the motorcycle was heading west on Perkiomen Avenue.

Another officer at Perkiomen Avenue and East Neversink Road reported the motorcycle had cut through a parking lot and turned left onto East Neversink. The motorcycle didn’t stop for a stop sign at the intersection with the access

ramps for the West Shore Bypass.

Police followed the motorcycle past the “Road Closed” sign and found him stopped at the construction barrier at the railroad underpass.

Police learned Sadowski’s driver’s license was suspended for a DUI conviction and that he didn’t have the proper license to drive a motorcycle.
