COATESVILLE » The region’s lack of snow so far this winter, may have homeowners starting to think about spring projects.

To help those starting to make some plans, the Western Chester County Chamber of Commerce will hold its annual Home Show on Saturday, Feb. 22, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Technical College High School Brandywine Campus, 443 Boot Road, Downingtown.

This is the fourth year for the event, and the second year it has been held at the Technical College High School.

The event brings together area experts in home improvement — sharing their skills and ideas with homeowners from across the region. Those attending the free event, can browse displays for ideas or meet face to face with local contractors, landscapers, home décor specialists, electricians and other experts.

According to Donna Steltz, executive director of the Western Chester County Chamber of Commerce, the home show is a networking event for everyone involved — homeowners and exhibitors.

“It allows the chamber members to put their expertise on display and expand their customer base,” she said. “We also see a lot of chamber members come to the event, and the exhibitors network among themselves. It’s always nice, if they are doing a home repair, to be able to refer homeowners to other experts they might need.”

The chamber moved its home show to the Technical College High School in 2019, to accommodate the growing number of exhibitors. Last year, there were a total of 40 exhibitors. As of Wednesday, Feb. 12, Steltz said more than 45 exhibitors were registered. And because of space available at the school, there is room to expand that number — up to about 80 exhibitors this year.

“Interest in the event continues to grow — among residents and vendors,” Steltz added.

One thing that is new this year according to Steltz, is that several of the Technical College High School trades classrooms will be open during the show, with teachers and students on hand to share what they are working on.

“The venue is perfect because students in the trades will have the chance to be exposed to companies they could potentially work for,” she said.

Steltz added that the Skills USA students from the Technical College High School will be selling refreshments as a fundraiser for their organization.

The Home Show is free to attend. Businesses looking to register as a vendor can visit www. westernchestercounty.com for online registration or contact the chamber at 610-384-9550.

The Western Chester County Chamber of Commerce was formed in 1916 and is the oldest chamber of commerce in Chester County.
