Pottstown — Christ Episcopal Church, 316 E. High St. The last day before the beginning of Lent is called Shrove Tuesday and our tradition at Christ Episcopal Church is to offer a Shrove Tuesday Pancake Supper. Join us on Tuesday, Feb. 25 from 5-7 PM as we enjoy a delicious meal of fresh-made pancakes (original, blueberry, or chocolate chip), sausage, fruit salad, and a wide variety of beverages. First Presbyterian

Pottstown — First Presbyterian Church of Pottstown, 750 N. Evans St. - Sunday School at 9:15 am, Worship at 10:30 am. On Sunday, Feb. 23, we will be celebrating the Sacrament of Holy Baptism during worship and our Celtic Singers will be singing. Faith & Nature will meet for their annual Winter Hike at Perkiomen Trail (meet in the church parking lot at 1:30 pm or at the Trail at 2 pm). Confirmation Class will meet at 5 pm. St. Paul’s UCC

Pottstown — St. Paul’s United Church of Christ, 927 N. Franklin St., will hold Ash Wednesday services on Feb. 26 at 7 p.m. The service will include the sacrament of Holy Communion and the imposition of ashes. Our next All You Can Eat Pancake Breakfast will be held on Sunday, March 1, from 8 - 11 a.m. Breakfast includes pancakes, eggs, sausage, beverage, and baked goodies. Tickets are $6 form Adults; $3.50 for kids ages 6 - 12; and kids age 5 and under are free!

First UCC

Royersford — First United Church of Christ, 367 Washington St. - 10 am Sunday School for all ages, 11 am Worship with Rev. Lauren Cain celebrating Holy Communion on Transfiguration Sunday. Church change will be collected for Old First’s Men’s Shelter in Philadelphia.

St. John’s UCC

Pottstown — St. John’s UCC, 11 S. Price St., welcomes Beth Eustis back as guest speaker for Transfiguration Sunday. Sunday School classes for all ages begins at 9:00 AM and worship follows at 10:15 AM. Ash Wednesday service will be celebrated with a service beginning at 7:30 PM. The congregation continues to host the homeless shelter for the month of February. Preparations are being made for “Breakfast with the Easter Bunny” to be held on April 4. All are welcome.

Brownback’s UCC

Bethel Community

Pottstown — Bethel Community Church of Pottstown, 575 N. Keim St. - Saturday at 11:00 AM, it’s the Homegoing Celebration for Gus Dingle. On Sunday at 9:15 AM, it’s Community Sunday School when the topic of discussion will be “Kingdom-Seeking Prayer” and every member and friend of BCCP are invited to attend. At 10:30 AM, BCCP Black History Celebration continues with the Sisters in Spirit Women’s Ministry leading the Celebration. Our guest preacher will be Reverend Khristi L. Pottstown — St. Peter’s Lutheran Church, 564 Glasgow St., will celebrate the Transfiguration of Our Lord this Sunday with Worship Services at 8 and 10:30 a.m. The Adult/Youth Bible Study Class meets Sunday from 9:30 a.m.to 10:15 a.m. “The New Testament You Never Knew” (Part 6) led by Pastor Smolik. The Ash Wednesday Soup Meal, with three kinds of homemade soups, will be served by the Parish Life Committee in the fellowship Hall from 5:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. A free-will offering will benefit the Pottstown Cluster Community Meal Program. Join us each Wednesday evening during Lent at 7 p.m. for the Mid-Week Lenten Services. This week theme for Ash Wednesday is “The Wounds of Blasphemy” and the service will include the Administration of Holy Communion and the Imposition of Ashes. Susan Sosnin, as she serves as supply pastor while Pastor Siefke is on the women’s retreat. The handbell choir will ring, “Climin’ the Mountain!” We’ll celebrate communion. JAM (Jesus and Me) will be held for children during the worship service, following the Time for Children. Ash Wednesday service will begin at 7:15 p.m. on Feb. 26. Trinity Reformed UCC

Pottstown — Trinity Reformed United Church of Christ, 60 N. Hanover St. Members will gather at 9:30 AM for morning worship. A special Children’s Message will be offered by Pastor Nichole Jackson, followed by Sunday School. Adult Sunday School and Confirmation Class will meet at 8:30 AM. Following worship, the kickoff meeting for the Event Planning Committee will be held. This new group will help with brainstorming ideas, a well as planning and coordinating activities for children and families in our neighborhood. Activities planned by this group, will continue our ministry of outreach to not only our own members, but also the community. All are welcome.

Zion’s UCC

Pottstown — Kim Adamson will return as supply minister this Sunday for the 10:25 am worship at Zion’s service at United Church of Christ, Hanover and Chestnut Streets while Pastor Austin Chinault is on the Pilgrimage in Israel. The sermon will be “”Jesus Transfigured.” The Handbells under the direction of Music Director will play “The Old Rugged Cross.” Ash Wednesday will be celebrated Feb. 26 at 7:00 pm at Trinity. Pastor Nicole Jackson and Supply Pastor Kim Adamson will provide leadership. Volunteers from Zion’s will prepare and serve the community meal at Emmanuel Lutheran on Friday Feb. 28 at noon. Civil War Re-enactor Pam Donahue will detail the hardships of a farmer’s wife whose husband is away at war and David Bonham will portray General Henry Warner Slocum at the March 3 Women’s Fellowship meeting at 1:30 pm on Tuesday. The first Lenten devotion shared between Zion’s and Trinity will be at noon on March 4 at Zion’s. Pastor Austin and Pastor Nicole will share the meal of soup and bread with us as we begin the preparation for Easter.
